The prices bounce around a lot. If you don't mind flying it, check Spirit regularly. Also, Southwest seems to lower it's prices all the time until some block or other of seats fills up. You can also check on flights to Tampa. It's not a long drive and it's really simple. Also, in Florida you can fly into one airport and out of another. Their law won't let car rental places charge for returns to different locations.

If you are willing to get on at ottumwa, Amtrak is only a 2 day ride to get there. Sounds cheap, although I couldn't figure out how to see prices.

so remember how DH got a jury duty letter? He got called up and had to go in today. Then texted around 11 that he got picked for a trial starting this Thursday. He said it's only supposed to be a half day............better be, we have stuff going on next week!

Also, he told me one of the other people was wearing a Trump/Pence shirt. Knowing the location, I think someone was doing their best to not get picked.

This not sleeping after 3am unless it's on a person thing probably needs to stop too but I have little willpower at that time of morning. Also, why is it still so hot?!

My parents came up to watch the girls play tennis today and tomorrow. Yesterday, there was a 10% chance of rain today and 20% on Tuesday. Weather people are awesome.

Don't listen to any local forecasts, just go to NWS. When I looked yesterday they had like 40% this afternoon and good chances all week which was why I tried to sneak a ride in early afternoon cause looks like a washed out week. Forecast had said after 3:00 but they changed that to 2:00 sometime this morning.

The Old Man and the Rain (Sea)? Did you make any references to the Great Joe DiMaggio as you rode?

I did not. Was too focused on not hitting the walnuts that were blowing across the pathway. When the wind is gusting enough to blow walnuts along the ground it's time to book it on home!

After that gust front it's been just a generic rain storm, at least in my suburb.

after Keeps friday thread, I'm working to get my notices up. I have blocked 2-3 trolls in the ISR forums so I'm sure I am losing about 50% of them. I'm up to 37 now.

Staying on resort we can utilize a shuttle from Orlando to the park and not need a car at all, so pretty much have to fly to Orlando.

@Cybirdy , I think to make it not cost prohibitive, you and Mr. Birdy should fly, and oldest chiclet should drive the other three chiclets - get those driving hours in for her license :)

I don’t think think driving 1300 without a valid license would be the best thing. ;) She can only drive with an adult.

Here's an actual photo taken by Boxster's neighbor- hosing down the walnuts that blew across the street and into his driveway!

My rain soaked mail carrier (forgot her raingear) just delivered a travel brochure form ISUAA. For a mere $10K  I could go on the ISU tour of New Zealand in January. I guess that's not "that" crazy  when I look at prices for the fancy ass cabins on cruises and such.

I will make a sacrifice and volunteer to help teach your daughter how to drive. All it will cost is an all expense paid stay in a resort.

Puppy problem.

Sadie has been picking the habit of digging back up. Any hints or tips on how to stop without having to constantly watch her while she is outside?

We're doing their San Diego to Miami via the Panama Canal in April. Want me to bring you back a cigar from Cuba? :D

We haven't cruised on Oceana before - we are frequent "flyers" with RCC. I'm not sure how I'll like it. Smaller ship, can get into smaller ports, but the brochures are looking kind of hoity toity. I'm not real big on ultra-fancy. The last two cruises we went on, we never went to the formal dining for meals. We used the buffets. Food was plentiful, good variety, and dinner didn't take 2.5 hours. Price is similar to RCC, and crew to passenger ratio is better than RCC. Less stuff to do on board, but they also do not cater to families with kids (no kid-oriented activities or gathering places, no child care service). At this point in my life, that's kind of a bonus. Our last cruise was during a spring break period, and there were kids running & shouting up and down the narrow halls full tilt at all hours.
