Separate. Hubby likes sauce with lots of meat, I like plain sauce, and three out of four kids just eat the noodles with no sauce. If we would have spaghetti at either of our parents’ house it would also be separate. You win.

Plus is gets sauce on all of the noodles. If you do it separate, half your meal is just sauceless spaghetti.
Noodles on plate then sauce on top. You mix them together on the plate.
Put noodles on plate
Put sauce on noodles
Put parmesean on sauce
Mix it all together

I’m more than 50% German. I’ll mix my own IF I want to. I usually don’t want to.
That way if there's multiple people eating it, they can choose how much sauce to put on.

I want to wash things, but the washing machine always has unwashed stuff in it. The wife gets upset that I don’t wash stuff but then gets upset when I take the few things out to wash stuff.
