So went to the vixen's reunion with the folks who used to run Clear 96.1 radio in Ames (she was the sales manager), and had a blast. What a bunch of great people. On the other hand, was definitely not impressed with the food or drink at Olde Main Brewery. Had a burger (ordered medium) that was very well-done, on a stale, crumbly bun, that tasted like someone poured about 2 quarts of charcoal lighting fluid on a grill. Plus I was drinking whiskey and Coke, and they used Diet Coke. Ugh. Probably won't go back there..........

But overall, the night was a huge success.

I think it has gone way downhill since their peak. The last time we were in there (granted this was years ago) the booths and such were showing their age.

I could be wrong, but I believe the bolded part above would have been an acceptable defense in court if you had decided to burn the place down.

Youngest wanted to sleep in so I said I would drop him off, too nice of a kid to say no to. Coming home, I come upon these really sharp curves coming into town when this pickup with a livestock trailers comes flying around. Well into the middle of my lane. I slam on the brakes, start sliding and steer it towards the outside. Guys on his cell phone, FYI this is a commercial guy and all those people need to have headsets and can't handhold their phones. I throw my hands up like WTF. He slams on his brakes and rolls down his window. Starts calling me names and saying why it's not his fault. I tell him I can get my truck around without those issues and he calls me more names. I figure he's a loser and drive off.

I spent nearly the entire weekend playing in Z's room. It was fun and she was nice to compromise for a bit to play in a different room.

I need baking ideas. The only other thing she asked to do, I didn't have surface space for at the time was to bake. We've done banana bread, muffins, cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies.

Wasn't there a baking thread once? @Cybirdy is your best option.

Nobody can be on a phone here without getting a ticket. They still do of course, but every once in awhile police will crack down on it. I wish they would go after those people harder than those that speed. Far greater threats, IMO.

Probably two years ago, I had a guy on his phone swerve into my lane coming into work and nearly hit me. I honked my horn and threw my hands up (did not flip him off). He pulled out a gun and showed it to me (didn't point it at me). I was slapped with the harsh realization that there are people out there that just don't care about anything and they unfortunately are allowed to drive cars.

I'll still honk if I need to get someone's attention to avoid getting hit, but I've completely given up hand gestures unless it's a friendly wave. There are just too many unpredictable people in this world and I don't wanna go out just because some asshat is having a bad day.

Mini cupcakes are always a hit in our house. She can go to town with decorating, and if she over-does the sprinkles on one, at least it's just a mini one!

My daughter is a cooking/baking show fiend and is now convinced she wants to make a croquembouche.

Thinking about it, I think iowa may have made it illegal for everyone now.

I google stalked the loser, and now can use loser without issue. Usually those who curse you out so quickly are a good indicator, but I don't like using names. I did an online courts look after some of the online statements about his business and they couldn't all fit on one page. Learned a lot about the horse world so it was minorly productive.

It is illegal in Iowa to use it for texting, email social media etc and dial. If you are stopped you can dial and hold it up to your ear.

.

This. There is an increasingly bunch of angry crazy ***** driving around and more and more of them are packing. It isn't a good thing. I have generally given up flipping people off and need to also lose the "threw hands up" thing.

Little over a week ago some guy got in a fender bender in Rochester. Got in a argument with some teens about it and shot one of the kids dead. Minnesota is not one of the states where the laws allow you to just shot people and later claim to be scared. The fact that the kids are non-white Iranian guys would probably be enough to get him off in Florida but they have a witness here saying no one pushed him or took a swing at him or anything. He's actually been charged with 2nd degree murder.

Baking with kids thoughts: mine liked making snicker doodles and drowning the dough in sugar and cinnamon. Also brownies and cupcakes with sprinkles. Although apple crisp sounds good too.

Dumbass driver thoughts. We went to the Texas Tech game and had stupid teenage girls that would pass the husband going 70 on highway 5, pull in front of us and slow down to 40 and laugh hysterically like it was most fun they ever had. They weren’t laughing last time we passed them and I held my phone up nice and high so they could tell I had them on video.

We love the "brownie bites" that CyBirdy told me about several years ago. They're about the size of a cut brownie, but hold together better; they don't crumble in your hands and we can toss them in a bag and take them with us.
