Just me and CloneLaw trying to breath life in RTT.

Randoms:
  • Got a start on fall lawn work. Pulled the veggie tops off of 50 hostas and bagged 10 bags of leaves. An okay start, like maybe 25% done.
  • Heinz 57 with an expiration date of 2020 tastes pretty much like the same with an expiration of 2013.
  • Yummy: Byerly's wild rice/cashew dressing stuffed into a big ole pork chop.
  • Going to try and sneak one more bike ride in tomorrow before the weather goes to ****. Missed my 1000 mile goal by a couple hundred miles but chalking that up to feeling like **** July/August.
  • Electrician was here yesterday for the bathroom remodel wiring. Needed to run a wire up into the attic for a light in the tub/shower. I look at the guy and he goes about three bills. I look at the attic hatch. I look at my six foot ladder. "Hey, I can pop up there and feed that wire up and then back down to you!"

Not exactly sure.
I'd post while killing time (slept in pickup last night baby sitting a dryer giving trouble) but CF is a data Whoar. The old pickups with full bench seats were the best for this.

Took a little power nap, radio was on, woke up to some talk radio guy going off about aliens, had to double check that I was awake.

Oh man nothing like a little Coast to Coast with George Norrey (even though I think he might be retired). Couple of hours of that is a broadening experience lots of interesting people in the world.

BC, may be having game watches in Albert Lea, sounds like I'm going to be picking up some extra work up that way in Nov. Stay safe out there this fall.

That was it. Had the cyclone call in show on and fell asleep. That show is comedy gold. Then woke up the George talking about the Ellen show and aliens, took a minute to get my bearings.

Well, spring break getting screwed up for practices and other things, thought a bowl game might work, daughter has basketball practice now most likely.

On a small positive note. Wife took son for a check up yesterday, wrestling sectionals went from absolutely no to probably not. Small glimmer of hope for him. Doctor had him as an 8 month full recovery and said he's definitely down to six for full speed. At minimum options for state track just improved.

Noory is not retired. I'm actually a C2C subscriber (kids get it for me for Xmas every year--$25--I'm an inexpensive gift getter so they usually throw in a handle of Bombay Sapphire), so I listen to it at work during the day.

So I am returned from beautiful Lambeau Field last weekend. Sat in the rain and gloom and cold and watched my Packers fight valiantly without their leader, and for awhile I thought they might win the day. Still had a blast, and win or lose I love watching my team.

Also pumped over our glorious victory last Saturday.....hard to believe that with a win in 3 days, the Cyclones could be all alone in first place in the Big 12.

As a Bears fan I enjoyed the Packers losing. Also great to see AJ Klein win up the road from his hometown.

I don't follow the NFL very much anymore. I'll try to watch my Vikings and stay up on them when I can, but I much prefer college sports. That being said, if there's one other stadium I'd like to visit besides the new US Bank Stadium in Minny, I'd love to get to a game at Lambeau at some point.

If you decide to go, the hard part is finding a hotel room. There are scalpers galore, and the longer you wait the cheaper the tickets get. Of course I'm prejudiced, but I would highly recommend you go. It's a great experience. I think you will find the vast majority of Packer fans to be friendly and welcoming. I have taken friends up there, and they have all commented on what a great atmosphere it is.

Let me preface this and say I have never had a dream about cyclone fanatic before. Well last night I had a dream that a prominent CF poster was outed as being a young 16-year-old. It was super odd because people were making threads about how we have been all duped.

The poster was like so what if I lied about my age and etc. definitely one of the strangest dreams I ever had. Maybe I’ve been reading way too much CF.
