Someone probably beat me to it. That would be one of my favorites, "Altered States." Loved the intellectual arguments Bill and his colleagues would get into. And yes, I've dropped in my day.
Yes, you got it! It is a somewhat obscure movie nowadays, but I always remember watching Aha's "Take on Me" video and thinking: "hey, they just stole that scene from Altered States!".

I remember watching that movie and wondering about sensory deprivation.....could I handle it? I was too chicken to try it.

Wherever I go, there I am.
36. And NO I'm not answering as part of a humble brag.;)
I'm not sure how to interpret JC's agreeing with the above statement. Is he agreeing because he thinks that I may have scored a 36 but am not being humble in mentioning it, that I may have scored a 36 and was in fact being humble, or that he thinks there is no way in hell I scored a 36?

Stuck in my head, Cindy's Cryin, performed by Deepwater Reunion with vocalist Barbara Raney. This cover crushes Tom Paxton's.

I might be in need of of 1970's music exorcism.

Just simply agreeing that 36 is a perfect score. Now you all have to figure out if I scored a 36 on my ACT.

I took the SATs when my enlistment discharge date was getting close. Do they still have SATs?

Yes, they do. More students in the immediate area probably take the ACT's nowadays rather than the SAT's, but some do if applying to certain schools or as part of the National Merit Scholarship competition process.
Daughter is about to take the PSAT. I guess it's the PSAT score that qualifies you to be a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist.
