Ha, formal pictures. I recently found, in the seemingly bottomless mildewy box from my parents attic, a formal picture of me from 1970 with redheaded girl. I looked ridiculous. So of course immediately posted it to FB because I have no shame. 
It is pretty awful, especially when you are sort of the caretaker for both older parents and young kids. Would they use one of those cheap cells that you could contact them in case you were worried? They have some basic phones that are cheap and kind of aimed at old people. Or maybe they have a trusted neighbor that has a cell in case you have the same problem again?
I had to get my 9th grade volleyball updates last night via text since I was home with a sick kid. It was a quadranglar and have played these teams multiple times already. Two of them we hadn't beat, 1 we can beat with our B players. He two harder games they took to 3 both times (only 2 of 3). On the 3rd of the first game daughter served 8pts in a row, were ahead 11-2 but ended up winning only 15-12 or something. Next game hubby makes it there and she immediately puts two in the net. But she had 2 kills which is good considering she is a 5'2" outside hitter.
They played at the old high school since JV was using 2 courts at the HS. Hubby said it was hotter than heck in there--the up ref had to step down and be relieved because he was about ready to pass out. Of course my dad the old farmer says, "its not so bad in here"
Not as fun as CG recaps, sorry.

Pretty sure my boys would ignore something coming from kids and not the coach. Varsity basketball, they want them to dress up both home and away. Was a pain with my older guys and dress shirts and ties, got a different coach and he switched to having them wear khakis or even jeans that were something other than blue, and they buy a polo with the school emblem that is only about $20 and is the golf shirt type material, so I just wash it and hang it to dry and it's pretty easy even if they have back to back games. Plus they look like a team and no judging what someone wears.
Girls here get way worked up over Homecoming, winter dance, and prom. Fairly sure they spend more between dresses, hair, nails, and tanning than I did on my wedding attire adjusted for inflation. A whole lot easier with boys, who don't care a whole lot. They take marching orders from the girls, but that's about it. A couple of times for prom, the girl has just said, "just get a black tux with a tie this color, don't care which one," and that was good. Others pick out some hideous expensive combo that they want. They all seem to pick out the flowers for both and just have the boy pay his part. I think out of the dozens of these things we have gone through, we had maybe one girl who didn't fuss over the hair and nails thing.
I honestly don't own a car........unless you count the daughter's. Newer diesel in the shop so will be a bill with that one.
Old work truck is a treasure chest. Plenty of junk, but a rolling tool chest also.
I'm getting lots of goffy hits on the internet. May die or could give me power of flight or shape shifting.
It was a Hawaiian bun, so I'm blaming Pants.
I wore a white tux with tails and a blue tie (to match my date's dress) to prom. No, I am not ashamed of that.
That sounds about right for what is done here. Maybe an hour earlier on the pictures. I think our usual pickup time was 5PM depending on how the group is organizing it. Take pictures then as a group and individuals, go to HS for the formal picture there before going to dinner (shorter line and no chance of getting food on you before the picture).
We always had a marching band competition late that morning or early afternoon so the girls would always go running as soon as we got back. Same for soccer and track at Prom.
My schools, dance was after game. We win, go to the dance. Lose, go drinking. Team wise I'm saying.
My junior year, several cheerleaders left the game early to get a little lit before the dance. Game was decided by halftime but still weird when only 1 out of 8 cheerleaders are there.
Got a FB friend request this morning from some gal in the Philippines.
Not the usual pornish spam FB requests but a mom with three young kids. Very odd and she is friends with another friend that I think is dating a Filipino gal. Wonder if friend said "Hey, girl, got a live one for you and he'll probably die soon and you can get his stuff!" Friend is not on CF or RTT so he doesn't realize she won't be in line for my stuff.

Speaking of homecoming...that was when my girl friend at the time decided I was too awesome for her (that is the story I am going with) and a week later I met MrsWx!
They both have cell phones. Mom usually has hers turned off and Dad probably has no idea where his actually is, nor does he care. I don't think they ever have them nearby unless they are travelling.
My dad would sooner throw his phone at someone to get their attention and then talk to them. Some days, I'm a lot like the old man.
Our dance is after the game, but doesn't stop the earlier ordeal. And my boys are playing in the marching band nearly all day, so it's a good thing they don't need much prep for the pictures. They go around to the nursing homes, hospice, and all the schools in the morning, assembly and parade in the afternoon, and have to play at the game. So they run home between parade and game to shower and change for the pictures and dinner. Then back into the marching band uniform. Then back into the suit. And sometimes they back Homecoming up to a band competition that they have to be up and out the door by 6:00 a.m. the next day and play another parade.
Last night we had pulled pork topped with cole slaw on Hawaiian bun hamburger buns. That might be the food they eat in heaven so let us know when you get to the other side.
