Ok, so pretty much everyone in here is aware of my designation as transgender woman, yes? I'm not shy about it among close friends, but I don't like to discuss it in public at all. I prefer blending. But we're fam, so I can talk here, right?

Anyway, things are so different on this side of the divide. Take what just happened. My current worksite is about 45 minutes from my house. I had an errand to run at Walgreen's so I went to the nearest one at lunch. And just happened to run into a neighbor who lives a couple of blocks away. He's a carpenter, and has actually done a couple of jobs in my house in the past, but it's been several years. We don't see each other at all anymore. He just happened to be working a job right nearby my current customer. The odds of an encounter are nuts, but it happened.

Anyway, I was walking in, he was walking out, I stopped him and said hi. He literally didn't recognize me (which feels good, because I always worry about standing out.) And we struck up a conversation, and he's a very likeable guy.

But ladies of RTT, you can tell when someone is checking you out, right?

It's in the 70s today, just gorgeous, and I'm wearing one of my favorite spring dresses. It is a little bit form-fitting, and while it isn't really short, the hem is above the knee. I totally think he was doing that, glancing down every few seconds, trying to cover his tracks by just stealing glances, but generally just doing a terribly unsubtle job of it.

Am I losing my mind here, or was that actually what was happening? It's a weird feeling, partly appreciative of being appreciated, but also kind of creepy.

You are too old to play basketball, just sayin'. HORSE is okay, just not real games.
I play most Sunday nights at my daughter's school. I am the oldest one there. Luckily it is just the right mix of competitive and friendly. Nobody gets too worked up but people definitely play to win. Being at a religious school probably helps. Having a young priest play with us for a while probably helped too. He was pretty darn good, by the way.

I wasn't aware. Heck, I just discovered you identified as a woman not too long ago. I'm used to being the last to know.

But, yes, most of us men are terrible at being subtle. Then again, I caught myself staring at a woman's chest in the skyway as she was walking toward me the other day. I stopped because I realized how bad it looked but I was honestly just trying to decipher what it said on her shirt.

Doesn't seem tornado and blizzard season should overlap. Had the tornado drill this afternoon and now NWS is issuing a blizzard warning for SW Minnesota. April can..............

Normal. Not creepy, as long as drool or spittle was not dripping from the corners of his mouth....or if he claimed had lip balm at the corners of his mouth that looked like drool.

Harimad, You said you said hi to him first to visit with him, but if you didn't say who you were, he's like thinking I must have done some work for this lady a while back, then makes some small talk with you. I also agree with Velo sometimes we men aren't the most subtle. Sorry you were uncomfortable but I really don't think he meant you any discomfort, but I wasn't there to judge. I would take it as a silent compliment.

Lady, you probably have legs for days. ;) I don't have legs or (big) boobs, so unless it is Sir Mix-a-lot not sure I have much to check out. Ha!

Thanks. I think you're right. I mostly did take it as a compliment. One of my biggest worries, of course, is blending in, and even as a very tall girl, I usually feel like I do that. My OKCupid profile gets tons of messages, "hey gorgeous/sexy," and all that. I'm kind of lucky in that I look younger than 44. Although I didn't get carded at the casino in March when I had a benefit dinner to attend there. :(

I was more pointing out that it's just a weird feeling. I've never in my life felt like I was being sized up like an object rather than a person, and it's unsettling.

It might just be Walgreen's that does it. Last summer when I was running errands at lunch, I had a guy put the mack on me in the Walgreen's parking lot. Or maybe it's just men in general, as I've also been hit on while walking my dog.

I do have long legs. The boobs, not so much. Estrogen is a hell of a thing, and I do have them now at least. "They're real, but unspectacular" would be my punchline, I guess?

Don't worry, some of us don't come by them naturally either. One of my sisters got all the height (she is 6" taller than me) and my of my sisters got everything in the chest department. That one is fine by me because I would not want to deal with the issues overly large boobs come with. I could have dealt with a few more inches of height, though.

Yep. And btw, the Sir-Mix-A-Lot? That's all that men seem to care about these days. So you've got it goin' on, girl. :D
