My wife put up a "Vote Yes for Our Schools" sign in our yard to support a local referendum. Technically, I am supposed to tell our chief that my wife put up the sign and that I'm not publicly supporting or opposed to this stance.

You should drink more red wine and eat more pie. ;)

Full Disclosure: I have been told for over 50 years by family and friends that I need to gain weight. The only weight I am going to gain at 66 is old man fat, no thanks on that.

I drink my share of wine and eat pie, but pumpkin is one of my faves and it is relatively light on sugar and I don't really like whipped cream so none of that. I never consume much alcohol before I get sleepy (maybe I'm just passing out lol?).

I never have a problem with family telling me to gain weight. All kind of built the same except my sister. I'm positively fat compared to her, she is one inch shorter and 30 pounds lighter. Yep, 5'8" and 102 pounds. Kids say I should gain good weight, which I think means no flappy arms like I had before my hand weights. They claim the weight work and bench press will help keep my boobs where they are supposed to be, but not sure how they know? So they have me eating a lot of protein but that makes me full.

I may be meeting Urban Meyer tomorrow night. Anything you guys want me to tell him?

1. Coach at Ohio State until they have to carry your cold lifeless body off the field.
2. Overrated.
3. **** Iowa.

"A local Cedar Rapids man was physically taken down by police authorities at Ohio State's coach Urban Meyer's press conference. This story and more on KCRG, TV-9."

[Stab in the dark on their branding]

Well done. Except it is just meeting up at their hotel. MrsWx's uncle grew up with him and is going to meet him and I am trying to bribe my way into meeting him/getting a picture.

OK, so the vixen announced this morning that she is making her world-famous chicken and noodles tonight, and serving it over baking powder biscuits. I am having lots of trouble focusing on work.

I'm making my chicken and noodles Saturday with mashed potatoes. Can put chicken and noodles in slow cooker, make potatoes in morning and nuke them later, watch football without worrying about being in kitchen.

Meh. I think I've gained enough stress pounds in the last seven years for both of you. :(

My vote is "not if you make it right"

It's about time for a large batch of gumbo for me. I don't consider that soup either, BTW.

Our usual coups are chicken and rice, egg drop, vegetable beef, clam chowder and lentil. I never knew what lentils were for the longest time until my wife put a bowl of lentil soup in front of me one night. It's become one of my favs now.

My wife does not follow recipes, so the soups are a taste adventure every time.
Gumbo is more of a seafood stew than a soup, IMO.

:(Stress is a bad bad thing. But soon you can do want you want and someone else can have your stress. And you can start the first cat-orangutan sanctuary ever.
Actually, we've already been checking into gyms and local facilities that have water aerobics for me. We both work so much we don't eat healthy and we're too damn tired to exercise. I'm done with that. I have some personal goals that I hope to achieve. Not the least of which is to lose weight!

@BCClone it's opened up in Luther down by Madrid. moved into the old motorcycle building. The motorcycle place built a great big new building right behind them. Decent atmosphere and pretty good food hope they make it. Large selection of craft beers on tap didn't partake that time had places to go & people to see.

I think stress causes more health problems besides weight management. My asthma was way worse when I was still working and at that time had only three little kids. My husband's blood pressure seemed to lower when I quit work to stay with the kids because we weren't always trying to juggle schedules to figure out care for a sick child. I think it affects heart disease, diabetes, back pain, headaches and migraines, gastrointestinal conditions such as GERD and IBS, and a host of other conditions.

Completely agree. I think tackling the most obvious issues (poor diet & inadequate exercise) will impact the other issues. It may relieve some of the back issues, but while I can alleviate the scoliosis somewhat, the arthritis is irreversible.

My mom was a legal secretary until she was 77 years old, the arthritis in her hands was debilitating. Guessing you have spent a lot of time at a computer in your day too.
