It's a United Airlines Buddy Pass, which means it's an employee ticket, but they can pass it along to someone else. When you fly under one of these, you're representing the airline so they establish a dress code.
Yup. But that part keeps getting left out. Supposedly the girls are around 10; the rules say 12 & older, so it's kind of a lot of mixed info being spread around. I do find it questionable though that shorts on one of the men were apparently acceptable, but leggings on an adolescent girl are not. Other than that, I have no problem with them requiring a certain level of dress when using company rep tickets.

I have a question for you much more experienced folk in the job force. I'm applying for internships and the interviews for a couple of them are this week. The kicker is, the one I want is in the end of April. So I would find out if i got the first two internships before I even had an interview for the latter one. What do I do? All of the internships would be good and they would all be in Ames which is what I want. But if I say no to the first two in hopes I get the last one, and I don't. I would be royally screwed.

perusing travel pillows today and noticed the bestseller looks weird AF. Then I saw the "people looking at this also buy"

see if you notice the odd item (among several) in the list.

Are these for summer internships? how quickly would the first two be completing their search? You have a shot that the first two may be drug out far enough to get at least your initial interview with the third, but not a great one. Can you attempt to get the third to move up your interview? I had a friend who was in a similar situation once and I told her I'd take the bird in hand and she held out for the latter one, turning down an offer. It worked out well for her, but my advice is likely the same unless you have some kind of insight that you'd have a more than decent shot at the third. The nuclear option would be to accept one of the first two (if offered) and then back out if offered the third, but I would not recommend that route especially if you will will be working in any type of close-knit industry.

It is also because 95% of the time you are in first or business class so it is an effort to be classier. Everyone gets these benefits from rampers to accountants so it is a wide range of styles and backgrounds. With the leggings I would be interested to see what exactly they were wearing. If they were truly yoga pants than yeah United was right. However (and I am biased on this because MrsWx sells it) if it was LuLaRoe or similar leggings they can be very nice especially when paired with the right dress or shirt. My money is on the yoga pants though.

My FIL was a ramper for American here in Cedar Rapids for a while (one of his 15 jobs) and he got flight benefits. We were never able to use them though since he used them and gave them away before we could use it. MrsWx was pretty sore about that for a while.

The suggetion list must be different on mine...I wasn't figuring out what was odd other than the herbal crap. When the goat weed was mentioned, I found it by clicking on the herbal thing...

Maybe it would have been the next scroll for you cause the probiotics chaser mentioned weren't in the first group for me either. I promise I haven't been look8ng for things that would trigger those items, lololol

I was reading through some of the UA stuff (that's the airline I usually take, so I was interested) and the leggings were on young girls, 10-12 years old. At that age it really wouldn't be all that different if it WAS yoga pants.

Nope. It was entirely travel "pillows" except for the "Vitex Chaste Tea Berry". I clicked on THAT to enlarge it to see if maybe it said horny goat in small print. On the new page the horny goat was suggested as a "people also buy" with the Vitex.

So...would you care to change your story? :D

Haha, the vitex was on mine too. Seems like they change up the order.I'm kinda afraid of what horny goat seed could do, lol

If you get offered right on the spot, you could always ask them how quickly they need an answer before you worry too much about it. They might be early in the interviewing process themselves. Worst case, just ask them for a little time to make a decision and see what they say. You should be able to read their response and act accordingly.

I may get blasted by others, but if you need to accept one internship and back out of it for something better, I wouldn't lose sleep over it (unless your field is super tight knit like CG said). It's a jaded outlook, but I feel most emloyers are looking out for their best interest. You are entited to do the same.

You probably ruin any chance of working for that company later on, but if you aren't willing to take an internship with them, your mind about them is already made up. They are a fall back and not a destination for you.

I would qualify that with location as well. Not entirely sure on the industry but assuming all three are the same, I'd be careful about back8ng out of an ames one if you plan to stay in the area and work in that industry if it's close knit. Like you said though, companies do whats best for themselves and bu should do the same.

Accept one of the first 2, and then if you get the 3rd, accept it and dump the previous one.

So today's the day when Wooster seniors turn in their senior thesis and it's a giant party and there are events around the United States, so I went to the Madison one. It was really cool talking to the different Wooster alum and becoming a team for trivia. And I might hang out with some of them again, so that would be cool
