A miami player got ejected for targeting so the fans started throwing everything on the field. You could also see a 60 year old guy flipping off the refs. Stay classy Miami

Weeeell, ISU doesn't have much room to talk on that one, not so much for FB but we've been known to voice or displeasure for both FB and BB.

By the way Woo, CBS Sunday morning has a profile on Ruth Bader Ginsburg if your interested.

My decision to skip most of the 4th quarter yesterday was a good one. I believe it has reduced the post-game pain level considerably. The few minutes I did watch ruined my afternoon but wasn't enough to ruin the rest of the day or the weekend. Screw football.

Niece posted a snapshot of her Garmin running watch showing her 14 miles and pace from yesterday. Yikes, her minutes per mile pace for that was about the same as my old man 5K race pace! And she had a baby just two months ago. Humbling. She is pretty awesome at long distance.

paint fairies turned the paint back to a bad color this morning. Went and got a different color. Thought it was a bit to orange but was better than the others. Painted the whole room. Got down about 45 minutes ago and it almost looks too cool. We picked well. Nice and cheerful yellow.

One room done!

Your color eye may be, just may be, too discriminating.

the lady at Home Depot said that yellow is tricky. DH and I both think the other colors will be easier. I hope, I did get a gray sample for the main rooms and that looks pretty solid already. Think we won't have the same problems with daylight vs. lightbulb light making it be two opposite colors.

took off two pieces of tape on the trim. Such clean lines!!!!! Gives me hope that it's not messy!

I think if DH dies, I'll marry frog tape. Such beeaaaaaaaaautiul clean lines. It did a great job. Even in the spots DH said I was getting too much on the tape and it'd seep.

sooooooo what are the odds that going to 40w bulbs instead of 60w will help tone down the color........I read a great tip about painting the inside of a kleenex box to see how strong the color will be in the room. That would have been great to have done beforehand.

I feel like our color is a wee bit close to "surface of Mercury". It looks pretty good until the lightbulbs finish warming up. And seems nice in daylight. I hate yellow though. No more yellow in this house. Maybe moving his desk back to the corner will help too. And maybe we'll get used to it.

Try it for a while...it might grow on you. You can always paint over it.
Side note - this is why everything in my house is wood or shades of eggshell. ;)

I will say I'm grateful now that I at least had convinced DH that we needed to come down several shades from where he wanted to be. Probably need to be closer to the pale ones I liked and he thought were way too light.

Think we'll try the different light bulbs tonight and see if that helps. If it does, we'll probably keep it as I think it looks fine in daylight.

When we were paint newbies like you, we made the same mistake with yellow. Thankfully at that time faux finishes were in and we just sponge painted over the bright yellow with a very muted yellow and the end result was much better. That was in the nursery.

A friend and I were just discussing grays, too. Gray is also a nortiously hard color if you get the wrong undertone. She had posted some samples on the wall and I was like, "Are you doing blue?" There were a lot of blue undertones coming through.

haha, gray is our next color.

I'm about 50/50 right now on whether I think we'll want to repaint and it's making me regret that I happily took off all the tape last night because I wanted to see the nice clean lines. Tape that could have stayed on for up to 3 weeks.

and now I wonder if we do want to go lighter, how much lighter and would we need to first paint white or something over the yellow? Or just two coats of the new color.

Daughter played her first showcase (where college coaches attend to watch multiple teams at once) tourney this weekend, although with 18U and 16U divisions playing at a different complex, we don't think many coaches came to our games.

In one game they played an inning ended on a double play and the teams switched positions. Then our coaches questioned a call, and they recalled the teams to their previous positions and started the inning where the error was made. We went on to score a few runs after that and eventually won the game.

Our club and another club were hosting the showcase. The 14U team the other club had was ruled ineligible with girls who were not 14U age and had to forfeit all their games. Not cool for a host team
