I just realized my thumbs up looked like I was agreeing with your assessment. Actually, I gave you the thumbs up because you recognized Shel Silverstein. When my boys were small, we would pile onto the bed & read together at bedtime. Forget Chistopher Robin & Pooh & Goodnight Moon...their favorites were Silverstein & Sendak.

The likes stuff is imprecise for sure. I am getting likes from both the Fennelly cult members and the Fennelly haters. Not sure either extreme gets that I do not like Bill (at all) while Moody is the only player I have actually despised.

I don't read it front to back, so to speak... but they do get some interesting POVs and I find some of the writers to be very clever, although some are a little too profane for my taste.

And before I get snark for being an prude, I recognize that's the way people WANT WRNL to be...which is why I pick & choose what I read in there, and leave the rest for those who like that style. For me, a little profanity goes a long way.

One thing I've learned about FB is that unless you post status updates fairly regularly (mine are like once or twice a month...) you fall off of the news feeds of a lot of your friends. If you don't post a lot, people may miss it when you DO post.

Most of my activity on there is commenting on stuff other people post. My life simply isn't interesting enough to be updating status daily, and I have several friends my age & my kids' age who routinely post random stuff they've found while surfing. They kind of bring the interesting stuff right to me...wow...I'm REALLY lazy! But that's where I get most of the things that I cross post to here.

That's when I turn on the bathroom exhaust fan to make some white noise to drown them out, although it's usually like 5:30 a.m. or so not 3:30 dark o'clock.
