Happy Friday! It's been pretty good. No nap for two of us, but it's okay.

Z helped to make pumpkin pie. Though, I need to find a way to explain better that poking the pie crust does not mean to stab it to death. :)

Monkey wrench!

First off, never good to see a missed call from spouse, then text saying "Call me ASAP."

Seems we have water leaking into our basement, but not where it usually leaks. Therefore, there's water getting on...stuff.

So now I get to run home and see what I can do to slow down this leak, since I have to be at the other job at 4:30.

I am really sorry Sara. Hopefully you can get something temporarily done.

So my sister has a boyfriend. He's wearing a hok shirt. And in true typical hok fan fashion, he of course did not attend iowa or any college in iowa. nor is he from iowa.

How? Like I still get the rural Iowan that has no ties to either school, but he has nothing.

Alex Trebek just made a mistake on Jeopardy!!!!

*snicker*

And he is old enough to know better, too. The category was UK bodies of water, the answer was "a good way to see the city of Liverpool is to catch a ferry and cruise on this river". No one buzzed in and guessed, and he told them "the Beatles sang about it: Ferry 'cross the Mersey River".

It wasn't the Beatles. It was Gerry & the Pacemakers, and it's one of my favorites from the British invasion.

Take THAT, Alex, you supercilious ****!!!

Well, I don't believe the leak is active anymore. The only definite casualty was the box our toaster came in. A box of old clothes has some damage...but again, old clothes. (You should see the gem of an ISU polo that I pulled out) Yay for knowing exactly where the old towels were to use on this issue.

I am seriously torn on who to "root" for today.

ergh...doosher bil rooting for iowa. go big red.
I'm cheering against whoever has the most to lose. This year I'll root for Nebraska since Iowa is number three. If in a few years Nebraska is number 3, I'll root for Iowa.

Also, I just saw a Nebraska student with a sign that said Iowa has bad corn. Oh hell no, **** just got real

No idea, he seems like a redneck. Maybe because we are eastern part of il? Think he went to school in wi so don't know why it isn't uw. Probably because they are bad this year. I tend to agree with chasers line of thought.

Boxster, how old are the grand nephews? They sound like a lot of fun. (Little kid crazy, but a lot of fun.)

Almost 4 and just 6. They got a kick out of the chocolate turkeys I gave them. Make a big deal today out of Uncle Russ carving the candy turkeys which of course we did. Chocolate turkeys are all dark meat, just so ya know!

Mmm, wine or beer for basketball watch this evening? Left what was left of my Kona sampler pack in La Cross for NIL. Still have some Longboards here. It is sports so pizza and beer sounds good.

Wine for watching sports? If its not the Henley regatta, Wimbledon, or something involving horses, beer is the correct answer.
