That thread took a bad turn quickly.Only took a few hours which pissed me off cause it was "my" thread and I don't opt into the cesspool. Might be just as well, half the posts I saw before it caved were idiotic jokes and silly uninformed shots at France. I was interested and watching the coverage live from home (retired guy stuff). In retrospect some of the coverage was pretty uninformed as well.
As is the norm with big breaking events, you get more true info a couple days later. The initial impression that the cathedral was a totally gutted shell, wrong, the roof burned and the stone ceiling protected most of the interior. The fire department didn't know what they were doing, wrong, to the extreme. Also, did not know the cathedral is actually owned by the state, not the church.
They're just a little different and you can easily picture them being customized and driven during a post-apocalypse.Plus cool old right hand drive Aussie branded cars.
FWIW I didn't follow much of that story and have been busy with other things and thought it was the ND in Indiana for maybe half a day.
Was a little confused when they were saying it's 800-some years old.
That's not very much fun. At least children's hospitals tend to be really caring. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and I'm glad to hear that he seems to be taking a turn for the better. We'll today (yesterday now?) Sure took a turn. Spending the night at the children's hospital. Little man's very mild cold got nasty today and made breathing hard. Urgent care decided he wasn't doing so well so we got to take an ambulance ride. Finally decided ehich wing to admit us to after 6.5 hours and I'm now eating dinner after running home and back. He's doing ok and Drs think he just needs some help kicking a virus but man, lotta feels seeing your baby having a hard time.
Not sure yet but it's probably bronchiilitis which they warned will get worse in the next couple days before it gets better ☹ thank you for the well wishes, certainly hope he's back to his full silly self soon
Sorry to hear that, CG. Nothing is tougher than having a sick child and sitting there feeling helpless to do anything about it. Prayers for the nut!!Not sure yet but it's probably bronchiilitis which they warned will get worse in the next couple days before it gets better ☹ thank you for the well wishes, certainly hope he's back to his full silly self soon
Got moved to the icu about 3am so that's cool. It was rough doing the iv and getting some new tubes but he was much better and chatting up a storm before sleeping for 2 hours. Mom and dad not so much. Now poor guy wants to move and groove but that's a no go ☹
Prayers and thoughts for you and the little calf that things get better and he is out of there as soon as possible. Always worse when it's your kid and you can't do anything yourself to help them. Was fortunate to never have a child admitted, so I can't speak from experience but that has to be the scariest moment in a parents life.
Just think, you only have like another 50 years of worry because moms never stop being mom.I sat with him for 5 minutes when i got home yesterday while dh ate and I'll never forget the feeling of panic rise as I started to see just how off he was. The lack of muscle tone was just so not him. Instincts were screaming to get him to a Dr and I yelled at dh to get changed cause we were going regardless of whether his clinic had appts. Still figured I was probably paranoid but then two Drs at urgent care were like ambulance now. He wasn't blue at all, getting pale when we got there. Justvsucking in so much trying to breathe. But yeah, helpless and scared.
As a heads-up...the seats at the South Duff theater are better for the vertically challenged than the ones at North Grand (speaking from experience here). At NG, the rows are more closely spaced, and the pitch is less steep. I had to sit upright in my recliner to see over the person in front, and those seats are NOT designed for comfort in the upright position (my feet didn't reach the floor).Thinking of a certain movie next week and seeing the discussion of upgraded theaters:
1. I think Z is hinting she might like to see her 3rd in theater movie. (She's been counting and practicing 1st, 2nd....)
2. The new chairs are great. There is enough space for the kiddo to join and they don't make me wish for stadium seating due to my shortness.
3. I should search and see why/when the USA decided to be lazy and use Theater for both productions on stage and the Cinema.
