I did the same thing years ago when I quit smoking. Left half a pack on my dresser, it was there for several months. Finally pitched it when I felt 100% sure I had gotten out from under the damn things.
I had about half a carton that I held onto for a few months before I gave them to my young neighbor's hot wife.

I've had no joke 20 of those calls in the last month. I never answer and they always leave an automated voicemail exactly 17 seconds long. I'd think more of it if it didn't come from a different number from a different state every time.
When are you going to actually realize that there's suspicious activity on your ssn.

I feel kinda dirty. At a college visit for daughter...........UNI. I already think it sucks and I’m just in the lobby.

I've got a niece at UNI right now. Majoring in El Ed. if I remember right. She really enjoys it liked the smaller campus than ISU. Housing costs are really reasonable her and 4 other girls are splitting a house right across the street from campus crazy cheap compared to Ames.

Sports aren't her thing though she'll be a Jr next yr and has been to 1 FB game and maybe 2 BB games the one I'm pretty sure she went to only because I came up and invited her it was UNI/Drake so good attendance and pretty good game for that one.

Hope she finds a school she likes (as long as it's not ToE);)

I won’t pay for ToE and it’s not being considered. My one sister is a CPA from UNI and I had friends there. I think it would be the best fit for my daughter so that is why we are here first. (She’s a sophomore). I have been to FB and MBB here. Seems like a big HS to me since I’m an ISU grad.

This place feels like a library, everyone is quiet and kinda whispers. At ISU visitors center it was active and hopping.

UNI catches a lot of heat due to the Hawkeye vibe, but I had two sisters and a BIL graduate from there, along with several friends. I'd trade salaries with at least three of them.

ITS SO ******* WINDY

When middle daughter Alana was nearing graduation, she was named an Iowa Merit Scholar. So she could have attended ISU or EIU for free - but she knew she could get as good an education as she wanted. (She ended up doing her undergrad at Michigan.)

Then, when she applied for medical school, EIU accepted her immediately.....she held out, and eventually Pitssburgh not only accepted her, but gave her $15K/year in assistance. That wasn't a tough choice to make.

So she stiffed them twice. (She's such a good girl!)

Late last year she got her Master's in Public Health and has accepted a job with U/Michigan doing research into children's medicine. So she's closer to home again.

Man, that's ballsy and kudos.

For me to abstain from something (quit drinking soda 3 years ago cold turkey) I have to have it completely removed from the space I'm occupying.

It's not even close to smoking and likely more conditioning than addiction but I'm removing myself from 5 hour energys which means even avoiding stopping at a gas station or anything.

In the next few months they are going to remodel the office and move us all to one side of the building. More of an open office atmosphere I believe so I'll be losing my office

Corporate America - We make changes to attract younger and cheaper labor that simultaneously frustrates experienced higher-salaried employees enough to consider other employment.

My brother that was at Land O Lakes couldn't wait to retire because of the changes they kept making. They kept minimizing experience and the importance of personal customer relationships. He managed to personally avoid the open-air office space, but he said that was one of the things that drove away a lot of really good people.
