I gave LM a bit of the bark from an almond bark pretzel and that was a mistake. Every night we get home now he points to the container (even when it moves JFC) and signs for more. Dances back and forth on his little feet with an excited grin. Then I have to bite off bits of pretzel bark to give to him. So far he does pretty well when I say all done. Child stole the last bite of my sugar cookie last week when I was trying to let him have sprinkles. Definitely has his mother's sweet tooth.

Update: We usually have 2-3 and before the last one I say "one more" to try and make him know it's the last one. Today at breakfast he was pointing to the container and I'm like not right now, maybe after lunch so he changed tactics and started saying "one more, one more" holding up a finger like I do. I may have created my match.

Had a good timing with my mom and grandma yesterday (they share birthdays). Grandma is now 93 and doing better in the nursing home than she was at home. Basically just there for the social aspects and peace of mind.

Admitted to my wife who grew up in a small town that I have had thoughts of buying the homestead land from my cousin so he can still farm, tearing down my grandparents house and building our dream home. I have always been staunchly against small town/rural living and still am for the most part. Mostly the lack of jobs/commute time to a city and the fact that you have to go into town for everything anyway.

Had a great betting day thanks to the Cyclones and now the Chiefs taking it to my Bears. #CoolStoryBro

Hoping the weather improves on Friday so we can fly to Janesville.

Not exactly sure.

The small town would depend on where it is in proximity to things. I had a nephew in the MSP area whose commute was The same length as mine in the morning. I went 29 miles he went three to four.

Two sons were second row behind the basket for the men’s game for those curious.

Notes from the weekend. These Christmas movies may be the worst acting of any. Also, my wife learned she loves gluten. Ad some gluten free stuff and hated it.

The nearest town with employment opportunities is Marshalltown which is only 20 minutes away. That being said MrsWx wouldn't be able to get a job she liked there as they don't have a labor and delivery ward.

Had a brief rehearsal last night for the song I'm singing Christmas Eve at church. My accompanist, who is the organist at my church (and very knowledgeable about music) brought along music for a song I had never heard. It's by Michael Smith - a prolific writer and arranger of sacred and choral music - and it's called "All is Well".

Long story short, we went through it a couple times and decided to do that song instead of the one previously selected. It will be printed wrong in the bulletin, but I'll make a brief announcement beforehand.

Here's a link to the song on YouTube:

That's really cool. I've had enough colds and phlegm gunk that I can't sing well with my favorite carols. I can do Jingle Bells with Z though..

I got back to Omaha on Saturday night. I have everything arranged for the house to be cleaned out on Monday Jan. 20th. The Salvation Army will take the mattresses which is something I was worried about because I would prefer to keep them out of the landfill.
Two of my sisters are down there this week boxing up stuff that needs to be boxed up for the consignment people.
