DH is going to change the oil in a warm garage.


I think this will be a good chance to say we should go to Sassy Cow when he is done. Think I've had lots of ice cream lately. Like, once a week. Good thing I'm working out.
 
or not, not enough clearance to get the car on the ramps. Don't think we have enough scrap wood to improvise with.
 
well it's a car problem, not a garage problem. My car has very low clearance and can't get it up the ramps before the fender bumps them. DH had been asking them to not throw out the scrap lumber, and then one day everything they had been putting in the basement was gone. So he's got like 4 pieces.


Ice cream was melty. Not worth the calories.

It's the car's fault that you didn't build the garage tall enough?

Didn't think we'd see that one.
 
I could use this as an example of DH's parents getting us something we mentioned offhand without checking to see what will actually work for us. But, I'm sure they'd just say to use scrap lumber. Just like when we said the hoses they got were too short -"just link them together". How about we just return them so we can have two hoses that are both long enough like we wanted originally?

I bet the oil change shop has the clearance. :jimlad:

yeah, and the oil would be pretty fast too if we had ramps that weren't going to dent up my fenders. I think next weekend is soon enough though. It's pretty warm today.

Thankfully she sees the funny in stuff like that and quickly forgave me.

In high school, my girlfriend's parents had a finished basement, so we'd always rent a movie and go down there and do what high schoolers do when renting a movie and watching it in her parent's finished basement. They only had a VCR down there (man I'm old, movie rental places still existed and we watched VCR tapes) and I got done rewinding it and getting the tape out. I was holding it but flung my arm back in an exaggerated gesture and in the mean time she had snuck up behind me trying to do something sexy. Not knowing she was there, when I flung my arm back I caught her right in the eye with the VCR tape.

It was bad enough trying to scramble for clothes as her parents started coming down after hearing the commotion, but it was equally bad if not worse trying to explain to her dad how I innocently clocked his daughter in the face.
