Aww...c'mon pants...with your self confidence, a little ribbing from me and WDSM should be no biggie...but just in case...c'mere, man...here's a hug:

Nah, I'm good. I think WDSM is just regretting not getting that hamstring rub.

I learned to drive a stick on my dad's F-150, it was a short box, 4 speed overdrive (so essentially a 3 speed with 4th being overdrive)...also a tall rear end in it, and of course the pickup shifter, so the throw between gears covered approximately a square meter...so if you could get that thing going in 1st gear, you could get anything going.

Meh. I learned driving this 1949 Chevy tankwagon. By that time it was demoted to an old backup truck and I would drive it around the warehouse yard. That's my dad and Mike the dalmatian and wonder dog on top of the truck from a picture they ran in the local paper a million years ago.

Yeah, but that thing was probably geared lower than heck as well...one of those trucks where if you're empty and on flat ground, you can get away with starting it in 2nd.

(cool pic, BTW)

Bingo! 1st gear was a super granny. Empty truck could start from stop in 2nd.

Off to Twins game as low profile Yankee fan.
