Seeing the mass letdown yesterday in all the NE fans faces almost made it worth it to be at work. Almost.

Well, hopefully you were getting paid to be there although I am guessing closeout tabs at the end of a shocking loss didn't make for good tips.

I seem to be in a better tipping mode after wins. Good service but with mediocre food still got a 30% tip last night at our local gamewatch.

I see the Hoibergs were at the game last night. Hubby ended up going, glad he got to see a win for once. Maybe next time he can use end zone tickets.

So, we've been watching the pre-show. It's kinda sad that it's all about improvements and a bit about fans. I don't think I heard anything especially about this year's team.

The sign we had was one we brought with us from the old towers. Don't recall any logo, just some funky odd font. Probably hieroglyphics based on how long ago I attended ISU.

I have a bunch of pictures from back than. Thinking of starting a Facebook group for Dana alumni so I can share the pictures and embarrass people.

That gameday feedback thing is going to get some complaints. I went in gate 2 on the East side. They only had 2 of 4 gates open. Some people probably missed a good chunk of 1st quarter. Also the concourses that they expanded a few years ago now need to be expanded again because not wide enough for 61,500 people.

The end zone club was awesome! If I remember right Pollard said they won't be making money on the alcohol sales. It won't be enough to start on the new press box but over the course of the season it will sure pay for an Olympic sport or two assistant coach salaries. It was $6 for a 12 Oz beer.

If I have one complaint it's the ridiculous lines at the concessions. I like to watch the band, so I'm not one of the ones that runs down to the concourse at the 3 minute mark of the second quarter, and I know better than to go down as soon as the band is done. So I wait until a couple of minutes into the second half...I waited in line for ten minutes, and didn't move an inch. I gave up & went back up to our seats. There are 6-7 cashier stations in that booth...and about 7-8 people manning the booth. Slower than slow. This is the concession on the east side, just south of gate 2. Are the concessions to the north of the gate or on the west side any better?

And yes...PapaLew & I sprang for tickets from a scalper. I'm more comfortable with our decision to not get season tickets any more. Had to take an Rx pill for my back last night (first time in a long time)...and it still aches this morning. Love the atmosphere of Jack Trice, can't deal with the aftermath anymore. :(

The concession stands on the west side were exceptionally slow also. Well, at least the northern most one on the west concourse. My friends were in line waaaay too long for just water and Gatorade. I know I saw the sign they had up on who was "running" the stand was a frat. Not sure if it was just that entire stand, or that particular line. Perhaps something the university might think about is having "proven" campus groups run the stands on big game days. (UNI, Iowa, Homecoming) Although, I guess you could say that isn't fair for other organizations.

MY big complaint is that the athletic department decided it would be a great idea to hold Hilton Madness on a high school football Friday night. Stupid stupid stupid.

Alright...this gets its own post...

My husband gets up off the couch to grab something from the kitchen, pauses right at the entryway and lets one rip. (Boys.) He comes back from the kitchen, and asks "You know why Russia stinks?"
"Why?"
"It's run by Vladimir Poot-in."

You know those random quizzes (geography, 70's music, math, spelling, yadda yadda) that your friends share on Facebook? Every now and again, I'll take one just for the halibut. Usually they have a little popup at the end that says something like "before you leave, please give us a like".

I took a spelling quiz today. The popup at the end read:

While you're at it, please us. Thanks!

Ummmmmm, NO! :)

Your husband and mine appear to share a sense of humor. Or maybe it's just a general guy thing. ;)

I didn't drink yesterday yet today I feel terrible. Headache, stomachache, general malaise. Not sure if it was the late night (didn't get to bed until 130) or what. I haven't felt this bad in a year.

I just feel like I could sleep all day. Thank God for the three day weekend. If I am still in this funk tomorrow it is going to take a lot to convince me to go to another night game on a normal weekend.

The hummers are in their massive intake stage before migration. We have feeders hanging outside both office windows (corner room) and two in front of the big window in the living room. My cats are highly agitated...all those little buzzy things so close to the windows and they can't reach them.

Yes. I'm enjoying their frustration.
