I'm pretty sure they were collected by a homeless dude. Being that my goal is to not die, I figured it was best just to leave the coconuts be.

That's good of you to not steal from homeless folk. I thought maybe a bunch had ripened and fell from the tree.

Just don't invite Pants. He will fly in and not even tell you.

Why hasn't CG interrogated the newbie yet? All that kale crap is slowing her down. What is that stuff anyway?

probably the head cold slowing me down

Went and WIKIed Maranon tree, so is the fruit part above the cashew safe, or is it poison ivyish like the shell around the cashew nut, or is WIKI misrepresenting the bad part of it? I have ate yucca it kind of reminded me of squash.

The fruit is delicious. Last time I ate some was probably 20 years ago. We had two varieties growing up. Tastes kind of like a mix between a, peach and an pear (as far as I can remember).
I still eat yucca all the time, but no maranon fruit. Can't find it here.

One the way to the gym and, ironically, I walk by this huge pile of coconuts. Just randomly sitting there, in the middle of Waikiki.

Scrat's stash. You should have taken them. Would have made him crazy!

My dog is exhausted from keeping me up most of the night. Grabbed the leash to walk him and he just looked at me like I was nuts. Maybe I need to treat him like an infant and go take a nap when the dog naps. Please let there be no storms tonight.

Have you tried a thundershirt? My friend got one for his golden and it has been working pretty well.

After the last time, I ordered one on Amazon prime and tried it out last night. He fought me getting it on and then spent a lot of time trying to get it off, in between all of his other craziness. He is a huge dog mutt mix; he looks like a cross between a lab and a kangaroo. We wound up spooning on the couch to try to keep him from waking up the husband and kids.

Maybe try putting it on him on a regular day so he can get use to it. I use to have a dog that would to lay next to your face during storms, that was super annoying.

i had tried it before when the weather was fine but only for about an hour cause he was trying to pull it off. He's just a tricky dog to deal with. Really sweet and gentle but we got him when he was about four months old from a shelter and our vet said he had been abused. He could tell he was malnourished from his joints, and when I mentioned he was terrified of steps, he said after examining him, he would suspect he had been kicked down steps at some point. So training him was hard, yelling at him seemed to get the opposite effect of what you wanted. We've had him seven years and he's a pretty good boy, but he has a lot of fears.

Wow - how do you guys keep up with this thing? I think there was like 5-6 pages since I stopped checking last night... I'm really going to have to step up my efforts.

I heard someone mention tats... I have a couple... albeit, not that cool, and one of them I'm starting to like less and less... but they are both covered by tshirts so it's ok. College decisions, amirite?

ok, new guy. Need to tell us locale (though I can see that I suppose), year of graduation (and college if not ISU), major, area of work, relationship/kid/pet status, and how about your favorite things to do along with your stance on baby pineapples, narwhals, and lists.

This reminded me of all the foods I have not eaten in years due to them not being available in the US (kind of makes me sad):
-Guavas (not those little bitter ones from Mexico, but the big - pink on the inside ones - from Central/South America)
-Maranon - cashew fruit
-Guanabana (soursop) - I've only found the canned variety at an Asian store
-Mavi Root
-Quenepas
-Fresh Tamarind (I can probably get this from the Indian store, but do miss tamarind candies)
-Sugar Canes (I could probably find that here) - I used to chew on these when younger.
-Nance fruit

I guess I have a list for next time I go back to Puerto Rico or Panama!
