Speaking of which, did DH like his anniversary present?

we stopped at Culver's, so yes.

God we are so old. We act so old and romantic. Whatever, we said we'd do a nice steak dinner downtown later this summer to celebrate birthdays/anniversary/home buying/his raise/my promotion after we drop the rest of our down payment.

Renters insurance, yay or nay?

Off the top of my head, total value of my belongings maybe total $2,500. Looking to upgrade some stuff, but right now, is it worth it?

Because, why not?

My apartment required it.

I've also had a pipe burst in a previous apartment, and once at freddie court. I know that stuff doesn't happen often but it's useful when it does.

can't remember for sure but what happens if say you burn your place down (and the neighbor's) or flood the neighbor's with your frozen pipes - does renter's cover damage that you cause?

In any case, our was $100 for a year, that's more than worth it to me.

I've heard of body glide, I need to get some for my feet. Heard it prevents blisters.

CG have you ever tried wool socks? I use them while hiking. Huge difference on the feet compared to cotton. Took away all my hot spots. I like Darn Tough brand kind of pricey but have a life time warranty. Also wool doesn't stink let it air dry and good to go the next day. When washing I air dry them out instead of dryer so they don't shrink.

well I mostly meant for going barefoot in dress shoes :)

can you get thin wool socks though? I haven't had problems with blistering this summer though I've really hardly run.

Yay. It's like, 4 bucks a month more.

My apartment required it.

I think so, maybe depends on the plan?

I got renter's insurance just in case. Plus it's the cost of like 2 hamburgers at mcdonalds so.

I can't get it where I live, because I'm too close to the ocean, and it still terrifies me even though there's not a ton of stuff of major value in my house.

But I'm weird. I also pay 2 bucks a month for a service where if my car breaks down or is in a wreck, I don't have to pay for a rental car, despite never having had to use it in 10 years.

I mean either way it's worth it to me, but if you don't think your own stuff is of that much value, it's worth knowing if you are covered if your actions cause someone else damage. Because if not, then maybe it's a risk you are willing to take. $2500 would still take $25 years to pay off with what I pay and I bet rural IA is cheaper on that anyway.
