The worst thing you will have to worry about is a soccer mom in her SUV trying to post something on Pinterest on her iPhone 6 while she speeds to Costco.

hey, you are close to that area. I thought I recognized that name on the map. Cool. What about that shopping area thing at Arbor Lakes. Worth checking out if I have a few hours to kill? I don't think I will though unless we go up early on Friday. DH says I can't go to the MOA.

I wouldn't call it destination shopping, but Mrs. Velo certainly manages to spend some money there. You could also include the area on Main Street across Elm Creek Blvd and the area by Costco, Lowes and REI across Hemlock. I will say this dude is probably the last person you want to ask about shopping, though.

EDIT: While I appear to be discounting it on further reflection it might be okay to burn a few hours on a nice day.

thank you :) I know you carry a Y but I figured you had ladies from whom you have gained a bit of knowledge.

You could go to "Color Me Mine" (or something like that) and glaze some pottery. They will fire it for you and usually you pick it up later, but I would imagine they have a shipping option. The kids made something for Grandma last fall there. I actually enjoyed helping them finish it.

Yes, I know, here is my Man Card.

Since we're on the OT topic of Minnesota, I will be in Minnetonka this summer. I will be coming up I94, hotel is right off 394. So should I take 94 through downtown to 394, or take 494 to go around the city and up through Minnetonka to 494? Will be traveling either late on a Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning, and traveling back on a Sunday. Just want info on how busy traffic usually is.

1. Will you be traveling solo or with someone else in the car? If during rush hour and you have a companion I would take the downtown route. There are HOV lanes both on 35W and 394 that will help you if going with the commute. If going against it, it won't matter anyway.
2. If you decide on the 494 route make sure you check the MNDOT website before you go or google any construction updates. They are doing some significant work on 494 and you may be affected. Checking is probably a good idea no matter the route. After all there are two seasons in Minny; Winter and Construction.

Good luck and enjoy your stay.

This discussion and the traffic to the airport makes me appreciate living in a decent sized iowa town and my "bad traffic" is getting stuck behind a tractor.

I agree with you, I would rather live in Iowa as well. The good news while we complain about traffic from time to time here, it is nowhere the scale of LA, Chicago or a whole bunch of other cities where the traffic is next to unbearable.

Thanks. I won't be by myself. Probably will choose the downtown route, but we'll see.
