Jeff's sounds good right now, haven't had it for awhile. Will be ordering pizza for the kids on Sat while we are at Trivia, but they don't yet appreciate Jeff's over cheese pizza from Papa John's or Papa Murphy's. The past few years free pizza at trivia has been HyVee, not great but free. Well, not really if you factor in the cost for a table.

Birdy: I think I recall you saying your family attends STA in Ames, and as I recall you're right around my age...don't know if you were active in college or remember, but when Mrs. 00clone and I were there, Monsignor Supple was there, at the time it was Fr. Seda, Fr. Hemann, and Monsignor Supple, (at that time, if you were confused who was who, they said Seda looked like your older brother, Hemann your father, and Supple your grandpa...Hemann started in 1993, so I'm not sure where that matches with your time). Supple, for the sign of peace would announce "Let's turn to each other and say 'God loves you, and so do I!'" as opposed to the traditional invitation for the sign of peace.

While it hasn't been a continuous path for us, Mrs. 00clone still say that to each other for the sign of peace, and I use it with the boys.

Also interesting that I didn't know, while I was searching online for the names (I actually had Supple's name right, just not the spelling), I learned that Seda is still there as the main guy now. Pretty cool.

WHO is running a story about a young woman who died after being infected with a "brain-eating amoeba". Despite the Walking Dead overtones, the thing that I can't get past is her name:

Koral Reef Pier

00--PM sent. :) For some REASON I thought I saw this on the movie thread, too.

The thread about VEISHEA would've been this weekend has me missing all the old we would eat on campus. We would sit across from McKay, then go get cherry pies and fudge and popcorn before the parade. After the parade we went to Kildee for dairy club ice cream. A few years we had the nitro ice cream the ChemE guys came up with. When you were an adult, it was all about the food, not the drinking. :)

I kid you not, a pizza hut delivery person just pulled up. Ooooo they have multiple pizzas! Do I get free food today??? I'm so hungry though, I can't wait around 45 minutes to see if leftovers appear. I need to be in on the original goods.

Darn straight! Best ice cream.

Well, outside of the pretty awesome stuff here in WI.

I posted in a football thread. I should probably feel bad and not do that again.

Pretty sure that even as a donor I do not pass the fan purity litmus test.

Only posting here so i could use the word litmus. It's a cool word.

Every once in awhile I see a new poster start a thread in the basketball or football forum and think, "Aw man, that poor dude is gonna get hammered." And then 20 minutes and 30 posts later, I look back and say, "Yep, he got hammered."

That potential lineup thread that's out there now is exhibit A. I'm sure that guy had good intentions, but he just a full scale CF initiation, complete with O'Bannion swinging a paddle.

Uhh, yeah, actually I accidentally posted it there, for some reason I thought this thread was where the talk of your girls and my boys was...when I realized it, I deleted it there and put it here, where it's not on topic, but that's the whole point here.

Waaaaaaay back when, the microbiology club used to have yogurt...

My favorite parade unit was the lawn chair brigade. They were hilarious!

We've all been there. The trick to start non-sports threads that seek an opinion before diving headfirst into the firey pits of CF without a life preserver.

Birdy - did your kids ever go eat dirt in the Agronomy display?

They made dirt cups with some group on central campus one year. Another year they made jello with bacteria (Nerds candy) in petri dishes with the microbiology club.

When Harry Potter was fist popular (I don't think I had even read it yet), the chemistry club put on a Harry Potter "play" with magic being different fun chemical reactions. We did so many different things on campus and usually only made it to just a few of the many displays.

I got to eat lunch with the kiddo and spouse today. I got to see all of the morning's adorable pictures. One of my favorites looked like she was tucking her dolly under the sheet! It's taken about this long for her to be interested in playing with them.

Agronomy usually had a big tent outside of Curtiss, with lots of plants & displays...and a set-up for making edible "dirt". Sounds like you found it.
