So far so good with Vikings in the first 15 minutes.

They are grieving.
They are ****** off.
They are fighting.
They are drunk.

Fits my mood perfectly!

Am I the only one still watching basketball?

Nope, I'm still in just sad that we are done. There were several fun to watch games but I just had a hard time being enthused knowing we're done. Hopefully the women can pull the upset tomorrow. 11 am espn 2 I believe if anyone still wants to cheer. I'm going to but I'm not holding my breath.

DH's bonus thing got confirmed. Sounds like it's guaranteed for at least six months, but likely to stick around for two years. It's a "your job is hard to replace" thing that is paid out each paycheck instead of one chunk. So like a temporary salary increase that can be taken back if the market changes a lot and it's no longer as valuable.

Soooooooo at least that was good today.

My shock has turned into full on depression. Been awhile since I felt this down. Wish there was a way to ease the pain.

To use cliche coachspeak...don't let an opponent's 4 point run turn into a 10 point run....don't let one bad loss turn into two bad losses.

Don't let a ****ty afternoon turn into a ****ty evening/night/morning. Find something else to do. I had a good built-in advantage, I had to leave for work 30 minutes after the game. I thought about taking a day of vacation, then thought...nope, this game is not going to make me wimp out on work. I got in, admittedly grumpy, and decided rather than mingle and have to explain it to all the 1st shift people who knew the score, but not what happened, I'd sit at my desk and crank on a new project I'm learning/working on this week. I banged some stuff out, mingled enough to not seem like a jerk, and actually got some good work done. I also ran into a situation a less experienced 'me' at work likely had never seen and gave him a really good training lesson so he doesn't have to fight thru it to learn like I did back inna day. Had I wallowed, I'd feel even more miserable for doing it.

And yeah, maybe you've wallowed thus far, but change it. Call a friend or family member that doesn't care about ISU basketball and won't likely talk about it, and see how THEY'RE doing. Think of someone who could use a kind word (not ISU BB related) and send them an e-mail, or text, or facebook message. If all else fails, put on some tunes and hell...clean your bathroom or something. Find a task and own that f'ing task like a monster. Even if you don't feel better about the game (and I don't), I feel better about the fact that I didn't let it become a completely wasted evening for me, and I'm pretty darn proud of the good things I got done tonight because I chose not to wallow.

And I know that can be hard if you're way down deep in the dumps, but the smallest thing accomplished can be a victory. I picked up all the cans on the counter, I changed my sheets, I sharpened all of my pencils....I don't know, it doesn't have to be big, but if you can find one thing that you can get done tonight despite your sour mood, you won a little bit.

for real though, I'm making some cracks about us losing but you can't let a sports team, internet site, or other things like that be the reason you are or are not happy. Ruin your mood? Sure. I'm not going to tell people to not be ******, mad, upset or whatever about it. But cause you to feel seriously depressed? That's not ok.

I bet I feel am gonna feel physically like **** tomorrow to as oppressed to mentally felling like **** earlier this evening. Wine y'all.

Last line in Archer tonight:

Archer: Thanks for the tampons.

Okay, you had to be there but I needed something silly, clever and stupid tonight. Thanks Archer!
