There's a girl who works at my local grocery store as a cashier and she's under 18 so she can't ID people for alcohol sales or press the "over 21" bypass button, but today when I was there she wasn't allowed to hand people their receipts when they paid with their cards. Anyone know why?

So, changed oil and rotated the tires on the Ford pieceofs**t this morning. Also pulled off two heat shields that had been loose and rattling at idle, so point to 00clone. However, broke a stud on the passenger front wheel...point to pieceofs**t. Tiebreaker: had some quality time with 4.5 year old as he finger tightened the lug nuts for me (well, the other 15 remaining, will get the stud replaced Monday)...final score: 00clone wins.

So do you think Hickory Park will be relatively quiet tonight? Spring break, Cyclones on TV (and no tvs there), 1/2 of Ames in KC. I am here with my mother in law and 3 girls, they always love to go when they visit. Hubby, his dad a and our oldest are in Mt. Vernon all day for volleyball. He will have to listen to the game.

Third day of wearing my ISU socks without washing. Things are getting a little fresh.

Also, got the playoff beard going. It's way too hot for a full beard here, but I will gladly keep it until mid-ish April if need be.

Are they done before the game? I can recommend a good brewery...although he'd be surrounded by hawk fans.

Give 'em a quick hotel laundry sink bath, then wear them dry with no shoes. It's HI, you can get away with it.

I was just reminded in the last hour about a birthday party I promised to go to tonight.

I took the heat-shields off my little mazda. Was a giant pain in the *** to do it without putting it on a jack.

I have't heard any updates, but they were anticipating bracket play to start around 4:30-5pm. Last I heard they thought they would be in the consolation bracket--still possibly 2 games to play.

Oh, I had it on stands, but one of them was formed up and over the muffler, and had a hole in it for a muffler mounting bracket, so it required tin snips and bending the **** out of it to get it out. Thankfully, it was thin enough to be hand bendable.

Oh, and since then, in an effort to fix the partially broken arm rest, I finished breaking it, and just took it out. My wife asked if I was specifically trying to break **** to get a new car.

Oh, man...too bad for him, then...I mean, would she notice if he snuck out during the match? He'd have to stay in Mt. Vernon, but I could tell him some places.

Otherwise, he can hit the brewery for a growler for the celebration on the way home. Grampa can drive.

If I move back I need you to catch me up on brewery scene.

In other news I took the Bonanza up with my uncle and logged a half hour and most of my first landing all by myself in it!

Sorry I had to miss out on all the girly talk, had to try and get to bed for an early morning.
Who else saw the major f'up on ESPN2 coverage when they had the Hawkeye logo up for us. Seriously, you are covering the Big 12 tournament. It was the 3yr old who pointed it out here. We were waiting for the game and she starts yelling "Hawkeyes!" Look at the tv and there is that stupid chicken head next to OU. Bet they got quite an earful after that mistake.

Birdy, this reminds me when my nieces were little their parents and the rest of us did a really good job of brainwashing them. A family friend came over wearing Iowa gear, she told them, We don't like the Hawkeyes they are bad. Oops little too good of job of training them.
