Random thoughts III

This is news to you? :)

True story: when my parents split up, my mom thought she'd try to get ahead and have me go to counseling even though I wasn't upset about it (even a 8 I knew it was an unhealthy relationship). All that happened was the therapist would call me fat then play ping long with me the rest of the session.

My boys were 14 & 15 when I split from their dad. Counseling didn't seem necessary for them. Their only comment was: "we were surprised it took you this long". Ironic, since I was trying to keep it afloat for them (I felt they needed their dad). PapaLew has been 10x the dad for them that their father ever was.

I was just looking this up for a friend, according to FB the person has no knowledge that you blocked them.
Just was gonna do it, but i didn't jnow blocking meant that it unfriends them. I just don't want to see there ****. If I delete hem, that could be awkward at functions.

If you block 2-3 posts from a person, the metric FB uses tends to put them on your newsfeed less often. It's the reverse function of liking or commenting...the more you like or comment on an individual's posts, the more often their updates & comments will show up on your feed.

I've done that with a couple of people...one is a daughter who's really into "sweeping"...I got tired of the invitations to like a random post for a chance to win a $5 gift card to babies'r'us or something...

There is an option to ignore them while still being friends with them. I have it like that for my sister.

I don't think it unfriends them. I have some people blocked/ignored. I don't see their posts. Occasionally I get game invites or something from them.

Kids aren't stupid. They know. And as a child of divorce, I can fully say that if you say you're doing it just for the kids, the kids know it should have happened long ago.

you can hide them from your feed and vice versa - make a "special" list that includes only them and you can basically block them without actually doing so. Though if they go to your page and only see birthday posts from last year, they'll figure that out.

You guys had such a great lunch hour. I made split pea soup in thirty minutes and was reminded that I really need to make sure I have a clear spot to chop veggies and not on the small counter beside my frig.

did you make the sign? And did anyone else see the guy that dressed up has big bird?

Saw Big Bird, the panda and the tiger(?). It was pretty creepy-looking though when the person in the Big Bird costume took it off & laid it on the seat. Legs & feet on the floor, body face down on the chair. Yeah...not a good look!

Side note: Haven't seen Gladys or Harry & Lloyd lately. Are they still around? Don't know who wore the Harry & Lloyd costumes, but Jared Brackens was Gladys (big pink lady).

I saw them at gameday. And Brackens was at the KU game.

heres what you do.

keep them as friends but unfollow them. This means you don't see their posts unless you look them up, their posts won't show up on your wall. They don't get notified you unfollowed them.
