Texas Roadhouse is not close to my choice, I can make food of that calibre at home. Mrs. 00clone's decision on Texas Roadhouse is because she's cheap. We had a gift card, and the oldest got a token for a free kids' meal at his last dentist appointment. So total, including tip, was $5. Personally, I would have taken her somewhere nice, but then she'd be mad because we spent too much money, and so...when it's her gift, I give into her tightarsedness.

I'm going to catch up here. Just a question for everyone - when you have a coupon, gift card, free meal or whatever do you base the tip on a % of the tab before any discounts? I generally do just because the server has to do the same work even if the restaurant isn't getting as much dough for the meal.

Just thinking, this is actually a pretty busy week (I mean, not birdy 4 kids busy, but busy for us)

Today I got the Wxman thing
Tomorrow is youngest's first T-ball practice, which is all Mrs. 00clone since I'm working
Wednesday I have a pretty important customer tour (I'm the unofficially official 2nd shift tour guide, and these folks wanted to come in at 5 PM)
Saturday we are going to Ames for the movie night and staying over
Sunday is an open house at work, and I think the oldest will be geeked out to see where I work.

And I think I'm finally teaching Mrs. 00clone...the boys know about neither Ames or the open house, lest it be nonstop questions from now until then. She used to love telling them the instant we decided something, so when we went to Arizona, it was more than a month of 'when are we going to Arizona?" every 3 hours. They'd ask me and I'd say...go ask your mom.

Man now I feel like a burden ;)

I remember when my dad's employer had an open house. It was pretty cool at that age to see the manufacturing process in work.

What the hell is my problem with loose caps? Last week I shook salad dressing and sprayed dressing all over the kitchen. Tonight I was shaking some lemon juice and loose cap strikes again and lemon juice all over cabinets and floors.

I think I have cap gremlins or maybe loose cap poltergeist.

I have gotten so paranoid about this, Boxster, that I will now never shake a bottle without keeping my index finger on the cap as I hold it by the neck. I will even do this even if I have checked the lid first. I have two little loose cap gremlins at my house, though. Heck, even Mrs. Velo will just set the lid back on sometimes.

Yes. The restaurant us getting their money (well technically they already did it is just changing places on the income statrment). Why shouldn't the employee get the same cut?

Absolutely, especially with a gift card. A gift card is just paying with a different form of tender. (Cash, check, credit/debit card, etc)

Yep. Rain every day again all the way to next Tuesday. Feel bad for my son, as he has been cooked up in the house all weekend. Have to come up with somewhere for him to go next weekend, since outdoor activities are out of the question..

Turn on the air for Pete's sake!

It's comforting to know that no matter what is going on in my life, I can always come here to the RT thread and catch up on what's going on.

Just opened the frig and checked 17 caps on liquid stuff. One was quit loose and three were slightly loose. There seems to be a pattern. Two were salad dressing and two were hot sauce stuff. If they loosen again without me using them I will know for sure it's crazy stuff, maybe rabbit poltergeist.

I tip based on what the receipt says not after discounts. But I have a soft spot having worked service jobs.

Gift card/free meal, without question. Coupon...depends...in every case so far, yes, but if there was a place that used coupons like Kohl's (if you pay full price for ANYTHING at Kohl's, you're a sucker), where the 'full price' is a phony number that no one ever pays in order to make people think they're getting a good deal, then no, but I've never seen a restaurant like that.

Not at all, just that we were DINKs for so long and not that social that I'm not used to having things outside of the ordinary work, to-do list, sleep cycle.

Thinking of you this weekend, Sara. Return of the King was on and I had to watch it through your avatar moment.

Maybe SV should go animated.

I'm with you, Boxster. Never trust them.

We had the same kind of thing when went moved back. Didn't do much other than the normal routine in ICT. Then the week we moved back everyone wanted to have us over.

But then I would lose the "Bro" aspect of my avatar....

...bro.

Speaking of "I am no bro", here are some quick no bro random stats on RT III as we hit 16,500 posts.

40% of the top 10 posters are no bros.

Estimated 32% of posts in RT III are by no bros.*

My Inner Sloth is going to great extents to keep me from doing anything productive today.

* Only can count those openly no bro. :)

speaking of Kohl's....I've had my eye on some workout stuff for a while. Got a 30% + $5 gift in the mail, the stuff I want is finally off full-price (some Nike things which don't go on as good of sales), and ebates is doing 16% cashback on Kohl's and several other stores this week. 46% off? Yes please!

ah poop, the Kohl's 16% is today only. My thingy doesn't start til Wednesday. Boo. Oh well, they should still be doing like 6%.
