It's what? 40-some degrees? Roommate turned the freakin air conditioning on.

They essentially made a career, in the 60s nonetheless, singing songs about all the chicks they banged. It's quite remarkable.

Your post has me flashing back to HS. Weird how you remember a moment and songs like forever and they aren't even significant moments. Beach Boys = me watching Jeannie, who I had a crush on, roller skating to the Beach Boys Good Vibrations.

Maybe it's just me. Was scanning slides I took of my little sisters HS graduation (valedictorian smart girl) and asked my sister if she remembered the song and slides they did. She did not. I did, Friends by Elton John with a nice dissolve unit two projector slide show of high school "friends". I cannot look at those slides without, boom, hearing Elton John.

For some reason "Good Vibrations" reminds me of the Iowa State Fair? No idea why. I went as a kid once, any idea if they ever played there in the late 80s, early 90s? Maybe it was a cover band or something, but they don't usually do cover bands at the fair do they?

My dad's records reminded me of the other part of his old stereo system. What was the name of the tape reels that played music, not the small tapes. The bigger reels where it would go through one side and wind up on the other side.
