the same thing happened to my boss the day before Christmas 2010. He called and told me that he wasn't feeling well. I walk into the store the day after Christmas and he's wiping down the cash register. He then told me he went to the emergency room Christmas eve where he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
 
Not so timely since Christmas was several days ago. But what is it with all the Christmas Car Gift commercials before the holiday? I don't know of a single person - nor have I ever heard of a single person that either bought someone a brand new car for Christmas - or received a brand new car for Christmas. Yet there are dozens of commercials implying it's a real thing.

Also, about the Nissan commercial with the small print disclaimers at the bottom, something like, "Fantasy image, cars cannot actually snowboard." Cracks me up every time I see it. Who knew?

I really shouldn't be surprised, assuming that people using a message board have common sense, but people...K-St basketball falls under the Big 12 Conference section, and stuff about Eustachy playing against NMSU falls under General College Sports.

Sorry. I'm just in a mood where the little things are ticking me off today.
 
I tore up the tip of my right index finger last night. I never realized how how ridiculously stupid things I need to use it for. Even something like scrolling the ball on a mouse can be a pain in the ***.

Speaking of...hope your finger heals quickly. Yeah, you don't know how much you use certain parts of your body until you injure them.

I did flip off Iowa City driving by on Friday. Tried to remember pointing away from your digs and at the U of I.

well if you hadn't licked the windows when you were spying a couple weeks ago, you wouldn't have gotten DH's bug.


Also, DH's dad got the bug this week now (so odd that he didn't get it when his wife was sick at Thanksgiving). He did the DH faint yesterday as well. DH was in the room with him and saw it coming. Luckily, he too missed sharp edges going down. He skipped yesterday's holiday food but was eating like normal today. Both DH and DH's mom warned him from experience that he should not do that and will likely pay for it tomorrow!

So advice to you, don't do dairy or fatty foods for a few days yet.
 
saw our cable/internet bill, got super ****** that it went up another $3 - seriously, I swear it goes up every month. We're both like we're going to call and get it lowered, then DH is like do we actually need it for anything right now (cable)? Thought it through and decided since my races aren't on, his football team is sucking, and hockey doesn't get on much anyway, so we're good. I'm all happy thinking about saving 6 months or so of that and then remember...................................Hoiball.

But they pretty much always have a stream for that, right?

I thought I'd miss cable dearly, but decided not even to hook it up when moving here. Netflix is my friend. And I haven't come across an ISU game for football or basketball that wasn't on Cyclones.tv or streamed somewhere (as long as you've got good virus protection on your computer). The streams aren't HD by any means, but as long as it's on a major channel and your internet isn't super slow, it would be fine. Get an hdmi cable and just hook your laptop up to your tv.
