And when I say sorting through papers, I mean PAPERS...
I was down there yesterday running two shredders for six hours. I was shredding utility bills from the 90's...

Feel great, no pain, just some discomfort when swallowing and that is be expected. Can't wait to get rid of this feeding tube. Hopefully tomorrow.
Can't wait to get rid of all these wires and tubes hooked up to me
Did they throw in the bionic package while they were at it-- and no, I'm not referring to a bionic ****, BCC, so no need to go there.

Will you be the 21st century bionic man, now?

I got tired of shredding my moms stuff. So one day I loaded up the pickup, drove to the farm and had a large bonfire while doing odds and ends. Was much quicker.

Thereby potentially depriving archaeologists and historians of the information...
Yup. And damn proud of it. She was a borderline hoarder; she had boxes and boxes of papers in her attic. Many of the papers in them were junk mail that she hadn't even opened. She woudl toss stuff in a box by her desk, and when the box was full, she would take it upstairs. It took them hours to find her discharge papers so that she could have military honors at her funeral. She was a nurse at Ramstein AFB during Desert Storm (aka the first Gulf war).

That WAS discussed...but it's too hot & too dry out here to burn the stuff...and we didn't want to store it.

Rough week around here. Lew's sister was diagnosed last winter with a rare skin cancer. By the time it was diagnosed it had metastasized and there was little they could do. After the last round of treatments she crashed pretty quickly, and passed last Tuesday. Her son is here from Texas, and Lew is her executor, so he has been down in Woodward most of the day, every day, sorting through papers with William. He comes home after dark and basically falls into bed. Service is Sunday. In the past three years, he has lost his mother. his dad (stepfather), his three older brothers and now this sister. He's now the oldest brother, and one sister away from being the oldest remaining of ten. Life has been coming at us hard in recent years. It's part of why we travel so much...we don't want to sit here & wait to die. :(
So sorry for both of you. I'm the oldest sibling in our family, but that's not much comfort for such circumstances.

Not feeling the weather god love for trying to get in some biking. Crazy windy today. Stupid hot Sat and Sun and stupid hot AND crazy windy Monday. Cause 2023.

Edit: Just checked and forecast for Sunday is now 100. Yay?

Week 2 Let's go! If only the game could be at the visitors school instead of commuting 1.5 hours.

My dad had the receipt from his first insurance payment on the first house they bought in 1955
My dad has a filing cabinet full of all the documentation. I'm afraid how far back some things go. I know they got either the water heater or sump pump replaced within the past 18 months, and he pulled out the papers of when the original was installed back in '87 when the house was built.

Curious...do you know your assignments for the whole season already?

That's why officials get paid mileage, too. Oh, wait. Never mind.

I found a copy of tornado insurance that my great grandfather had when I cleaned out the safe deposit box. Just came across the actual dead to the place I grew up yesterday. Only been 4 years now in a month since she passed, I on top of this stuff.
