Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

He was scared of me. Was facing me, and as I jumped out of the pickup and grabbed my phone, he turned sideways.
I have an eternal pond in the ditch along this field due to DNR plugging tile and backing up water on two quarters across the road from me. Always get geese and swans running around this field. First time I’ve had a turtle.
We fed birds through the winter but stopped as soon as the grackles came back. No need to feed squirrels and grackles as we hate both. Our "squirrel proof" feeder is only mostly effective. The most acrobatic of the bunch can still raid the feeder but it is a struggle and he can't get much out at a time. We do still fill the thistle seed feeder. We have a whole colony of gold finches that are almost constantly on that thing.
I like the idea of bird feeders but hated all the little plants that grew in the planter under it from seeds being spilled.
Did you throw him in a tank of clean water to clean up so you can eat him later?
He/she was headed back to the other side so I took off. I don’t mess with those things. Not sure where it would have came from. There were none there when the fields were farmed 15 years ago and it’s not like one got loose from the lake mills people who raise them and scampered over there. Maybe DNR introduced some?
Wife has a co-worker that is being a PITA and while the train wreck has not started yet, we can see the busted track while the train is still chugging along and knowing the person and situation, there is no way this doesn’t completely derail and catch fire.
Were they the folks raising them and selling the eggs overseas for food delicacies? I heard about that never knew where it was.

Hmm, those last few words sound like code for something, at least here on CF.
I should also note that the bolded part (not by me) was also in the TO: part of the header.
It's always a good feeling when I'm wading in a warmer water stream and I see one of them waddling around or pop their head up pretty close by.
They generally want to get away before anything but I don't want to chance it either.
A few years ago I encountered 2 within a few days of each other. One was in my yard, we have a creek so I left him alone. The other was in my in-laws yard which is a mile from any water. I put him in a bucket and took him to a creek. They are faster than you would think and they can get their mouth pretty far back
