After hearing someone throw up, why does it always make you feel sick all of the sudden? I noticed an empty Hawaiian Punch Bottle in our trash container yesterday afternoon. Couple hours later our son was worshipping the porcelain god. He said he wasn't feeling good yesterday morning. He also said he had a fruit punch Gatorade. Nice that our popcorn bowl doubles as a puke bowl.

I was making an omelette this morning with diced green/red peppers onions, ham, and cheese and thought to myself, "wonder what this looks like coming up?" Nobody can say they have never thought of that after hearing someone throw up (non alcohol related).
My six year old son came downstairs to my bedroom in the middle of the night, woke me up saying Mommy my tummy hurts, and proceeded to yack all over my bed. A problem for most peeps...but worse for me, because we had one of the old-school waterbeds (like a giant sack of water). Ain't no sleeping on that until you drain it and clean down between the mattress and the liner. It's a good thing his dad was on a business trip. Would've been a lot worse if the kid pissed HIM off...

Yeah, not a fan of the little ones unless I only have about 3 items.
We do most of our grocery shopping at Target and their counters are small for self checkout. Unless we have about 2 things, I won't do self-checkout at Costco which is where we do most of the rest of our grocery shopping.

I usually use self checkout at Costco but I don't usually buy a bunch of stuff there.

I don't hate my job, where I've been for 23 years, but it really has it's moments. Wednesday Morning in the office(mandatory 3 days) at 6am, left work at 3pm, worked on a server issue starting at 8pm that didn't get fixed until 2:30am, and then back at it at 5:30am this morning. Very rare to have this happen but boy does it suck when it does. The worst is when you hear "Well my shift is going to end so we're going to move you to the next support person". Ugh. On the bright side 3,000 people logged in this morning without any issues...

On a more positive note, in a few weeks we're heading to Roatan Honduras for the first time. We had been to Isla Mujeres the last 6 or so times we've travelled in January, but we thought we'd try something new.

I feel your pain, fortunately it's been a while since the last time

Are we the only people that LIKE self checkout, especially for groceries? We like bagging our stuff ourselves so that some bags stay in the garage for the freezer, some come to the kitchen, some upstairs to the closet in the bathroom, etc., and we don't have broken eggs, smooshed bread, and 45 bags for 17 items.
I definitely prefer not using self-check out because the machines are “dumb.” Scan too fast? Too slow? Use more than two bags? Don’t put something in the bag correctly? An employee needs to come tell the machine to stop freaking out. And at some places (looking at you hyvee), they don’t have as much staff at the front so it takes longer to fix the issue.

We don't usually have those issues. Maybe the scanners we use at HyVee are set to better speeds. I do know that the small scanners with room for just one or two bags are VERY slow, and I hate using them.

'Bout the only time I need help from the employee is on the rare occasions when I buy alcohol. And it's annoying as hell for that.

I worked at hy-vee in high school, college, and a few years after. I find the self checkout scanners to be identical to the standard ones, so they are pretty easy for me to us. They actually bring back a little nostalgia for me. I can't remember what I ate for breakfast but I know that 4011 is the code for bananas.

Two of my jobs are wrapped up for 2023. As a result, I had epic levels of motivation today for "no jobs" day.
Kiddo and I chatted a lot. Sometimes we talked about doing stuff, then didn't.

Ate around 2. Couldn't be bothered to try before that. Brought down my Kindle to read, but couldn't be bothered.
Turned on the TV. Didn't pick a show and it shut itself off eventually. Had a couple of household things I planned to do. Picked up the legal pad for one. Couldn't be bothered to go further. The other was an organizing thing that I looked at, then stayed on the couch.

I'm pretty impressed with my "effort" today.

I for one am impressed with the variety of (in)activity you intended to attempt. May I be so lucky someday.

Opened FB this afternoon, and its lovely algorhithm decided I needed to see a post from a group that's associated with my hometown. The post was pictures of "Christmas concert, 1984, 1st-3rd grade." Was slightly horrified watching pics go by to finally see me playing Mrs. Claus. Not horrified enough to NOT grab the pic and make it my new FB profile pic.
