@SaraV, @Ms3r4ISU , @BCClone anyone else that has worked in radio why does the control person (producer) (?) Position turnover so fast at WHO radio in the afternoon slot? I assume the pay is bad?

The song Low rider by War always makes me smile it reminds me of Cheech dusting his car off before he goes driving and that welded chain steering wheel. I had forgotten what a bondo buggy that car was till I just rewatched a clip of it. Bitchin interior though. :)

Terrrrrriiiible. And, if they have to play phone screener and board-op, they get to be yelled at by the crazies who don't want to go on the air, but need to rant about the topic being discussed. Story time!

22 year old (much more timid) me was doing the above...board-op and phone screening for a talk show. Our host had a guest in that was well-known in the area, and was fairly well-respected & liked as far as I knew. Except this one listener we'll call Bob. Bob had some type of beef with the guest, and decided I needed to hear all aboutI it, yet not wanting to go on the air. He called three to four times that hour. The last time, he called 3 minutes before the top of the hour. (That's radio speak for xx:00 time) I'm trying to time out our host so that I can play the 90 second break right before we go to CBS News. Bob's yammering on, and I say
"Sir! Do you WANT to go on the air?" "Well...no...."
"Then I don't want to hear it." *click*

I freaked out a bit because I thought Bob would complain to my boss and I'd lose my job. I got out in front of it and left my boss a VM on his work phone. Never did hear back from Bob.
