Random Thoughts 15: Crystal Clear 2021 Edition

Oh crap. Hmmm. Well, DD is enjoying her independence (she’s at a school in Florida) and her first fall game was yesterday. I know she was starting, and she says she did well, but they were going to Gainesville last night so she didn’t have time to FaceTime.

Really wish they would do a GameChanger or something so we can follow the games from afar.

I’m getting used to the empty nest. I was actually in Ames last weekend for the UNI game, that was an insane amount of fun. Went to the Cubs game Wednesday night with a friend and just enjoyed walking around lakefront neighborhoods beforehand. Got to stay busy and distracted to keep from crying because you miss your baby girl so much, lol.

So is she doing a prep school thing down there or has she graduated and picked a school down in Florida?

Had a department outing to a local sand volleyball place on Friday. Found out that it’s frowned upon to do the the whole slap each other on the behind after every point in a setting like that.

Now that I have shaken off a two day headache (maybe a post vaccine shot thingie) my Biker Biker persona would like to go rideabout. Still only 63 degrees outside, way short of the forecast 80. Feels cold to a heat acclimated summer boy.

Well this weekend was pretty disappointing. FB was disappointing, then on the way to work today the water pump on my car pooped out. Different vehicle, got to work, work actually went well busy but well. Got home snagged the neighbors trailer, hauled broken car to mechanic and unloaded said car, delivered trailer back to neighbor. now need to get stuff ready for route tomorrow.
