Observations from our first time back in 2 years...
Ms3 & Mr3 are very good company
Velo let me make my own drink this year...and it was STILL too big.
Velo's kids are very entertaining, and fun to talk to.
Velo is now plotting evil deeds against me because I ratted him out to his daughter.. :p

The excessively narrow entrance at gate 1 is not a great design plan. It's hard to tell where the line is, and we apparently "jumped the line" without meaning to. We were just following the folks in front of us. East gate was way less crowded.
It's nice not having the sun in our eyes, and I really LOVED sitting in the front row so that we had someplace to put our feet that didn't involve kicking the people in front of us. Also, I was able to see nearly every play because there were no tallr, faster, more agile people jumping up in front of me...BONUS!!!

Ended up not wearing our masks. I hope I don't regret that choice.

I hope the guys behind us and to the left are not season ticket holders, but I suspect they are. They were aggressively hating on the fact that we were not ahead by 21 pts in the first quarter. They were pissed off when Vance went down "because he was so far upfield, and way behind the play". Nevermind the fact that he was closing on a sack when he got stomped by two UNI guys. Oy! Somewhere during the 3rd Q the louder one got particularly angry at a play call, and leaned forward and shouted "BOOOOOOO"...right in my good ear. At that point I just looked at him and said "Seriously, dude???" I don't know if granny shamed him but he was quieter after that. No less angry (even when we won), but at least quieter.

Sightings of Wxman and Wxmom, but MrsWx apparently had kid duty.
Sighting of Gr8, and a nice little chat during the 3rd or 4th Q. Went back to my seat after, and Lew says "there you go again, hugging every guy around" (Velo also got a hug).
Did not see Harimad - she may have found more entertaining folks elsewhere, or may have come by before we got up there.

A win is a win is a win...I was so happy to be back in JTS!

Just got back home. It wasn't pretty but a W is better than an L.
And KC already told you that I was able to stop by and say hello.

Glad that Iowa State and Wooster won. Too bad about Wisconsin.

Also, at the Wisconsin there was a technical glitch where they gave an update and it said that Fordham was beating Nebraska 24-7. The crowd was not happy when they had learned we had been lied to.

Were any of you ladies wearing red mid thigh high pirate boots, a fur wraparound, and a tiny red mini skirt? That was an interesting outfit. Wife’s good friend and her husband (UNI fans were our guests) (their nephew is a former Iowa BB player but they are UNI fans and not purple hawks) were our guests with our spare tickets. Met some new people. Apparently my nephews wife followed us out of the stadium and was able to corral us before we split off. Loads of people we knew were in our section also, was interesting to see them. Didn’t see any of you RTTers, but we were in the cheapskate lots though.

Oof.

Not in tailgate/game "all day" form yet. I'm tiiiirrrreeed, and I need to go into work today. I see coffee or an energy drink, if not both, in my future this morning. (And no, I didn't tiouch any alcohol)

Used to wear boots & mini-skirts (accent on USED to) but not in combination. Have NEVER worn fur (yes, I'll wear leather, but I draw the line at raising an animal just to skin it).
So I'm going to guess it wasn't me you spotted. :D

I did see some women my age sporting those little kicker skirts the college girls were wearing. Cellulite and saggy knees happen to all of us at some point; gravity is real. I don't know if they think it makes them look younger...I just think it makes them look desperate. JMO...
