Sara - call the city housing & development authority (city hall) for where you live, and tell them about the situation. Make sure you tell them about your restriction, and the delay/lack of communication. They should be able to put out an order for immediate service from your maintenance.

So here's the update...

Drop husband off at work, filled the car with gas and tried to remove as many bug guts as I could off the windshield before they baked on. Stopped at the ATM and then grabbed a coffee. Since I was driving past, decided to make an in-person stop at the office. Spoke to the property manager, and got the "We just got the toilet seats [Seats?] in, so we'll try to get to yours today, if not, definitely later this week." I mutter a half-hearted thanks, and drive back to my apartment. Let myself in, drop my purse, do a 180 to make sure I locked the door, and then I see it. The notification sitting on our kitchen counter saying someone had been in to replace the toilet seat.

*sigh*
Still absolutely frickin' ridiculous. Just funny how they managed to do it in that 45 minute window or so of me being gone.

"Unprofessional" confession:

Since my 2 DMACC courses have a combined total of 6 students, I just don't the drive to bother preparing for courses I expect to see canceled. This is a weird feeling.
Seeing all the open seats in similar classes, it has all the makings of courses I've seen them cancel, but they're dragging it out this fall. Needless to say, if the full semester one happens, I'm behind the curve, but I just don't see the point in putting in the effort yet.

You know the drill. I don't blame you.

Neighbor had his driveway chopped out today. Right now they are grading and putting in the forms to pour the new driveway.
I don't envy those guys at all today even though it's not quite as bad as yesterday evening. At about 7:30 the weather app said it felt like 108

I have a bicycling name now "Biker Biker". Was passing a group of maybe 15 kids (grade school, maybe JH, by the look) on a chaperoned ride today. I did my "On your left" to let them know I was going to pass them and tail rider chaperone guys was "Biker, Biker!" and than the kids we're all "Biker, Biker!', "Biker, Biker!" Weird kids, "What's' your name?" "My name is Aaron!", etc. Ah, kid, my name is Biker Biker!

Depending on the content, lower student enrollment sometimes can provide a chance for project based learning.

Two thoughts there:
1. That would be cool, but I don't have time to prep that sort of thing, and they're not paying me to really go all out.
2. DMACC insists in meetings that classes under 12 (and soon 18) aren't profitable, and won't be held. There are a lot under 12 right now, so there's likely some condensing going on.
