Matched the highest rain amount of the year on Saturday night with .6 only to have that crushed last night with 2.8. I think that more than doubled what I have had all year

Another .01 here in CR.
I forgot to look this morning, mostly because my windows were fogged up and the sidewalk was dry. If there's anything in the gauge, I hope it doesn't evaporate before I get home later.

I mowed the front and sides Friday and due t the rain didn't get to the back yard until lunch today. I had a serious lawn mullet going.
Of course if I don't get out and mow the front in the next few days it's going to start looking like a Flock of Seagulls

Hey, RTT peeps - we're going to be out of the country during the KU game. I have one or two tickets available if anyone wants them. I offered them to Gr8; he suggested that since there were two, I should see if anyone else wants them first. My local friends that like football already have season tickets. For the lurkers, these are going to regular RTT posters first. Thanks for understanding.

Head ups for the RTTers. Was informed by a woman im the hotel hot tub that the delta variant is quite heavy in Missouri, especially the part by the ocean. So stay away from the missouri oceanfront property. I didn’t ask which ocean, she may have thought I was dumb.

A common theme for me during all of this is 'well I won't be going there any time soon' when these places have surges....issue being that these would be places I wouldn't normally go anyway.

Alright, I need a check on how angry I should be about something, because maybe I'm not angry enough.

We're blessed to have two bathrooms. One day, we woke up and there was a crack in the toilet seat of our "main" bathroom...the one we use for showering since it has a full tub shower. So on a Tuesday afternoon, we placed a maintenance request to have it replaced. I figured we might not get it fixed on Wednesday, but maybe Thursday. Thursday afternoon comes, and still no fix. I call our office about it, and they say usually with maintenance requests it can take 72 hours. Friday comes...nothing. Same on the following Monday. Tuesday, I call the office again, and they say that they'll put it in as urgent. Still nothing for the next three days. Now I'm...not happy. Call Friday, and get a different person. They said they needed to order it online, and it's on backorder. I voice my displeasure that there's been NOTHING communicated to us about a backorder being involved, and when do they expect to receive it? They say next week. Okay.

My fellow RTTers, I put that first maintenance request in on Tuesday, July 20th. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks! since I put it in, and 1) no new toilet seat, and 2) no communication about when we might get it. I'm calling again tomorrow, but what can I threaten them with? We're stuck in the lease until next June. The leasing company is national, but I'm hitting a bit of a wall with contacting them directly without going through the local office.

And no, I can't go out and buy our own toilet seat and install it. We're not even allowed to change our own lightbulbs.

Can you withhold your rent payment or deduct some from your rent for failure to provide services? The local maintenance contractor should have been able to get a darn seat at Menards and have it installed within a couple of days. Good luck on getting your stuff fixed.

That's BS. If they are going to put such restrictions on you then they need to provide better service or at the very least better communication.
As NWICY stated they could have run over to Menards and picked up a new toilet seat.

Start using the office toilet

I think you can only withhold rent for things that make a place uninhabitable, like not having water or heat in the winter. I think maybe they could repair and deduct the cost from rent, but I am not a lawyer nor do I know the proper procedure in Iowa.
