Because I'm likely to hate much of today, good news updates that very few will care about but anyway.

  • Week down with 2nd shot that was surprisingly mild, hope they didn't only give me 3G
  • Spent a chunk of Tuesday night/Wed morn in the ER after LM's cold went bronchiolitis again and albuterol wasn't cutting it. Supposed to be every 4 hours but he made it 2 before waking up and struggling hard. The RT at the ER gave him SIX doses in about 10 minutes. I'm like..........is that ok to do? Because if it is.......I'll do that at home next time.......she didn't exactly give the ok but it's just a bronchiodialator so no real overdosing. That plus a steroid shot and kiddo was singing Old McDonald for the whole dept to hear. Very nice new ER, btw. Highly recommend if must be in the ER. Downside was not getting home and into bed til 3am and having to be up for a stupid ass 8am meeting while the boys slept til 9.
  • Made DH help me get a baby carrier last night. These things are SUPER popular and last time sold out in about 1 minute. I did get one but not a color I wanted and mostly got so I'd have something. This time they said they had 3x inventory plus had colors I wanted. Made DH practice. He thought I was ridiculous. We both ended up getting one though still not the color I was going for (the most popular, of course). However, I got the 2nd most pop color and have someone lined up who wants to trade because they were going for the one I got and I wanted theirs. The 2nd one I got was actually for a friend who wasn't able to pregnant walk back from daycare fast enough to get one. Probably half or more of the people trying didn't get anything so I feel like the fastest gun in the west now having 3 in my possession or on the way :D I only want one though so if I get this color traded for, my friend gets hers and I'll sell my safety one for only a tiny above retail to deal with reshipping and that hassle. I won't be the ******* selling for 3x retail.
  • We are putting in 2 garden boxes. DH's response to my thought of tilling and extra round of garden space this year was to plan out a whole raised garden bed area complete with gravel, fencing, boxes - based off this picture

  • gorgeous but holy work. He estimated 3 weekends. I estimate he'll be work on it til baby is born o_O

ok, 9am, time for beginning of meetings. Hope all are doing well. Try to pop in and read once in a while but.....life is at about 150mph right now

Do what you can. Only what you can. DH on the other hand should do everything you want to and can't.

Pro tip: Never check in on a job search where you lost out.
In my case, you might find that you lost out to someone who isn't even graduating for a couple more years (per their own estimate). That stuff does not provide motivation for the work to come, or even for this afternoon's interview for a one-semester ripoff job.

It's a damn good think Milo is cute and sweet and cuddly. Otherwise, he would have been dead about 6 time already this morning. He's in a pushy mood. Pushy as in wanting to remove items from where they are currently placed. Latest was the tv remote, which popped open and spilled batteries under my desk...which Milo then promptly chased FARTHER under my desk. Had to use an extension back-scratcher to reach one of them.

Like I said. Good thing he's cute...

We went to a newer local restaurant (North Grand Seafood) last night for a take out order...waited for about 15 minutes while they prepared our meal. Chatted with the owner (40-50ish) and the server (20s) while we waited (restaurant had one table being used). We were talking about vaccinations and not being ready to actually eat IN a restaurant yet, and the owner pointed to the server and said "HE doesn't want to be vaccinated". I just looked at him & said "did you go to school?" He said "no" (meaning ISU), and I said "n,m I mean grade school, middle school, high school". And he said "well, yes". Then I said "Well then you've been vaccinated a dozen times over already or you wouldn't have been in school".
He looked down with a super guilty look...I swear he blushed!
By the end of the conversation he was promising the owner he would get vaccinated as soon as he was eligible. :D

Side note: if you're local, try the restaurant! They make Cajun boils, Po Boys, catfish (a personal favorite) and all kinds of breaded & fried seafood. Don't let the prices scare you - the cheapest boil is ~$29, but it easily feeds two people. The catfish basket is around $13 (fish & seasoned fries). If you like seafood, it's a great new option. We really hope they will hang around, but they started up during the Covid stuff so it's been a little tough for them so far. They are in the old Valentino's location in the Northern Lights strip mall.

Just spent three hours working on something that the government has its fingers into. Wouldn't be so bad, but some jackwagon many years ago obtained a dun and bradstreet filing for me, under a name I have never used for a business, but with all my personal side information. Well, now it screws everything up. I figure, well I can just use that name, so I start down the road, guess what, using that name is a no go. So now I have to correct this stuff because I'm in too deep. No wonder people don't fill out his paperwork and just bend over and take it. It is massive work. The jackwagon who made this mess for me is another government employee in a different department. Government being a pain for me because of other government. I feel like Franny Mac pulling down his mask in the Oregon game.

Thanks for letting us know about the seafood restarurant. I will have to try that when I am in town (can't do carryout from Des Moines).

It's almost as if he knows how to piss you off..........

Let me guess, stares you down right before doing it

There's an awful lot of vitriol in the Floyd trial thread. It's sad when anger and hate begets more anger and hate.

Guess I'd be smarter to just stay out of there.

He has said from the start he wasn't planning on me helping. So that's been realistic but I think he underestimates (and he said as much after last weekend) how much different it is having 2 of us able bodied and going for 10-12 hours a weekend day vs. 1 fully bodied and a toddler to wrangle in between.
