After a down year performance-wise, and now only having one year of eligibility left, I would guess the demand for Rocco in the transfer market will be less than it was last year.

To be clear, I believe it SHOULD and WILL be Rocco. And probably no way Campbell would ever move someone ahead of him. But the 2nd half of the season was as bad from an ISU QB as we've seen in some time. Add on the wild card of the transfer portal. I was curious where the fan base stood, but it sounds like most people have their heads on straight.
I agree with Rocco's less than stellar performance 2nd half of the season but he's the leader on offense and I don't see anyone on the current roster changing that.

Agree. Rocco was just plain not good the second half of the year. He has got to be better next year if we want a chance to contend for the conference.

I don’t know. There have been some really dumb threads on CF. But it is certainly in the discussion.

There’s a lot that can happen during an offseason. Maybe Rocco gets gangrene in his throwing arm and it has to be amputated? That would be a scenario that maybe we’d look to the backup I guess.

He could still transfer to Iowa and be QB1.

You could see the outline of some sort of brace under his long sleeve shirt today.

Pretty sure it's been there since the Cinci game.

I guess it's harder to throw when that's going on. Someone will say 'but NIL and he should be perfect all the time!' but NIL doesn't make nagging shoulder injuries go away.

Rocco is playing hurt. Unless he goes portaling, he's our starter.
I wished we had seen Logan Manske more this year do something other than a designed QB run. Every time he came in they ran him, which upset me.

The more interesting question is if a team like Miami upped the offer for a one year deal for him, would we try to match? I would say no, let him walk, use the extra money for a defensive end.

That’s a crazy thing to insinuate. Injured? Sure I think Rocco was playing injured for the second half of the season. Concussed? I won’t go that far without some corroboration by someone who actually knows. Not from someone with a weird vendetta against Matt Campbell.

That's really all it seems to be with posters like @LAClone

I said in the game thread: CMC's teams can make me batty and I wish some aspects were better but the overall results have been winning, so you take the 8 wins and enjoy it.

Alex Manske was coming off a UCL surgery (same injury that Purdy had against the Eagles in the playoffs) so I'm not overly surprised he really didn't sling it when he came in.

Strikes me as someone who was either an ex-player of CPR or a tie to him. The hate is illogical.

Also a below average WR group. There were a lot of throws they should have caught throughout the season.

Alex Manske.

Also, we won’t up NIL if someone else bumps their offer because it’s irrelevant.

Nice try to cover your ass. Kid just led a team to an 8-4 record and a winning Big 12 record and you can’t wait to pile on him because 8-4 isn’t up to your standards. You’re either a Hawkeye, Big Red or just woefully out of touch. I’m sure CMC has you on speed dial for consultation.

If some of you think this is a “below average” WR group, you have a very short memory.

Below average in terms of Higgins and Noel, sure. The previous fifty years or so of Cyclone wideouts? Nah.

And Rocco’s injury(s?) and communication issues with new faces didn’t help any.

Still wasn’t on the same page with at least one pass today.
