Purdy's Early Performance

I mean, he’s been good to great for the last 3 games, so I’d say pretending like Louisiana isn’t the outlier would be the bad choice.
True but at the same time his performance against the ragin cagins occurred. Outlier or not, there is no pretending otherwise. A sample size of one, either counts or it doesn’t.

You take your sample size of one, I’ll take my sample size of 4.
I have not stated otherwise. I’m not picking any measure of sample size. On an individual occurrence, each game is as valid as the other. They are all equal. To pretend otherwise is incongruent. Just pointing out the absurdity exhibited by some who seemingly hold one game as being more valid than any other as if by picking and choosing changes the actuality of results.

My sample size of one is his game VS. TT.
What is your four game sample size?
;)

They seemed to run Brock a bit more today in the small amount of the game I was able to watch. He's so good at that and it's just another factor to consider of our offense.

I hope we keep that up. Assuming of course Brock doesn't get hurt doing so....

Let’s pump the brakes. He’s only a sophomore, but he can get there if he keeps playing this way.
He’s a sophomore. He’s one of the leading rushers in the nation. Two of his hundred yard games came against the best rushing defenses in the conference.

That’s the freaking definition of “one of the best backs in the nation”. “Pump the brakes” my ***.

Folks on this board need to learn what a run pass option is. In previous years when the read and number in the box suggested we run the ball we still struggled to get yardage. Now we are forcing teams to load the box and bite on the run and it’s opening up the passing game.

We lost our right tackle on the first series. In years past that would have been our excuse for losing the game. This time the offense didn’t seem to miss a beat.

All I was saying was let’s see how he does over the next couple of games. So far his numbers say he’s one of the best, but Oklahoma and Texas Tech don’t exactly have good defenses. Oklahoma State will be a great test for him. I like how Breece takes what looks like a two yard gain and turns it into a 5-6 yard gain. He’s a stud.

Im confused. Is this one game sample size legitimate or not?
I just want to make sure if I should be happy or concerned. LOL

Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and let people wonder if you're an idiot, rather than open your mouth and confirm it. ;)

He is without a doubt, and according to national pundits, one of the top backs in the country. Not a team in the country wouldn't take him off our hands if they could.

Stellar reply. How So? Keep up with not adding any value to the discussion or even specifically countering anything I have stated with any level of coherant thought process. Way to go. ;)

Nothing invalid about the conclusion. Small sample size or not. It’s accurate. The numbers are what they are regardless.
There's a difference between a player's stats dipping, and a player's ability dropping.

In any case, regression is a funny word in this thread, because it implies a return to lesser state... when have Purdy's numbers ever been this pedestrian? He can't "return" to a place he's never been. Anyway, he's doing a great job this year. Had some good runs on Saturday, too.

Yep, agree.

The top three rushing defenses in the conference right now are Oklahoma State, OU and ISU—in that order.
