Just came back from grocery shopping and saw the news. I have mixed feelings.

Coach Prohm is a great man and a good basketball coach. I was rooting for his success here from the day he was hired and I will continue supporting him wherever he ends up. It's so unfortunate that he can't survive in the brutal Power 6 MBB business where some coaches have to sell their souls to the "devil" in exchange for wins and program success. Please remember the bright days of Coach Prohm's era. We have won 2 Big12 tournament championships, 3 NCAA tournament games and made it to a Sweet Sixteen. We have the most of ISU players playing in the NBA right now. Even though his last two years' record is awful, he still ended his Iowa State tenure with a winning record. Which school that hires him in the future will get a great man who would run a clean basketball program the right way. I hope we fans can give our next coach the time and allow him to build a solid foundation and establish a winning culture that fits Iowa State. I pray we find our next Matt Campbell in basketball.

If it’s TJ I’ll support him. However I think we are settling
Everyone always settles, unless you're hiring Coach K. Doesn't mean you aren't getting a good coach though.

Just like in recruiting. No one actually gets their first choice, otherwise they'd be signing the top 5 recruits every year. Doesn't mean you can't still get good players, though.

Lmao this is literally how it is. People so infatuated with Fred. At the end of the day Fred left US. Dude doesn’t like to recruit at all, has publicly talked about it. I’m trusting JP to make the right choice!
Yes, god, please not the coach with the best winning percentage in school history. Anything but that.

Unfortunate, but he inherited a team that finished in the AP top 10 the year before he arrived, and with the exception of a blip year in ‘18-‘19 trended downward ever since. I can probably count the number of ISU games I’ve watched the last two years on one hand. Wish him well in his future endeavors, but it’s time to move on.
