Prohm Defenders

Hire Dawn Staley. Proven winner and won't even be as expensive as Prohm.

Becky Hammon, Pop's assistant down in San Antonio would be in the same vein. Smart enough to work for Pop I'm guessing she is smarter than most coaches.

LaVelle Moton interviewed last time. Excellent coach, incredible man. Wrong region of the country unfortunately. I am tired of recruiting the SE US.

Plus the reason XF signed with the Cyclones cause we were trending up and Frans boys were headed the other direction, Fran has some players now and XF can see the direction and would be gone in a heartbeat!!!!

He signed with us during our worst season in 10 years....

He signed with us because we've got a much better track record of putting guys in the NBA.

Yup...had nothing to do with W/L, what's funny is, even with having such a better team this year, Fran still doesn't really have anything to point to that gives him the edge over Prohm in that category. Idk when it will be but IMO when XF leaves ISU it will be to play pro ball of some kind.

I'm gonna guess that loss to Tech last year in Hilton fits in here.
They also got lit up by TCU two seasons ago.

For every high point under Prohm there's a Bizarro World low point or two.

Sorry for super late reply, catching up on this thread. I can't deny Steve has had some major downs and bad losses, but thats inevitable. People act like Fred had a perfect tenure that Prohm screwed up completely like Fred didn't lose to an awful Texas Tech team and then UAB in the tourney with his best team. I feel like we constantly qualify prohm's positives and hammer his negatives.

Fred’s “lows” are not nearly as low as Steve’s “lows” and their “highs” are equal

I wasn't referring to Fred though.

FWIW I used to see it this way but the CSP lows have piled up.

That stretch before they got it together for 3 days in 2019 was flat dreadful and this consistent struggle with non-P6 teams is more definitive of where things are.

I think there was a big difference in Fred’s lows. At least on the conference losses (Texas Tech) we still looked the part that we always did. We just couldn’t hit a shot. I have mentally blocked out that UAB loss but even then I think we looked better there even with all the chemistry problems that year. I also think there were significantly less and they were significantly less bad.

Yeah, I had been pretty supportive of Prohm before last year went off the rails. It's true there were some real crap games under Fred, but they were still crap games in otherwise good seasons. Now instead of losing to UAB or that garbage Texas Tech team, we ARE that bad team.

Fred's lows being discussed here are amazing. He lost to texas tech, a big 12 team, and lost to UAB in the NCAA tournament. Thats is what is being discussed as his lows. Prohms lows are things like biggest upset in bpi history, and worst loss to iowa ever. Most losses in 40 years.
