PREDICTIONS: Iowa State vs. Texas

I think you guys are overstating the score. Texas' defense is tough. We need to stop their running game and make them beat us in the air. Big night for our defensive front. ISU 24-17.

I just have this feeling ISU controls the whole game. Texas rally's to tie it up late. An ISU dropped pass leads to an INT and Texas kicks a field goal to win as time expired. That's the Iowa State fan in me.

I also have a feeling ISU comes out and destroys Texas. Tom Herman is overrated. I hope I'm right on this feeling.

like your thinking but i have a bad feeling DM will have to be blocking/chipping instead of running routes. same with TE ( or lazard). our WR are still having some trouble with separation it seems. im looking for texas front 7 to control the game.

they make a few big plays in the passing game.

Texas runs a 3-3-5 and brings at least one every down. you have a couple options on that.

  1. Keep your RB and TEs in to block and rely on your WRs to get open 1 on 1
  2. Use your RB and TEs in the passing game in the area vacted by the blitzer.
If I was Manning, I would motion Montgomery out of the backfield or line him up in the slot. Force them to cover him. That eliminates them blitzing from one side or risk leaving him uncovered or forcing safety coverage leaving a WR in single coverage.

USC did this and could have made Texas pay but their RBs and WRs had more drops than I have ever seen in a game. And I am an iSu fan.

Texas has holes in their defense we just need to exploit them. I think we have a better QB, better RB and better WRs than USC did in that game

The way Texas' D-line physically dominated our O-line last year still concerns me. I am not sure we are much better, and they might be more motivated.

I like our odds. I think our O-Line is better this year, even though they are bringing most of the same D-Front. I think Park has the ability to go lights out tonight. I think if our D can stay in the game and our play calling doesn't go limp if we are up, we win this.

Better QB and WR's is a laugher but I do believe we win and it is because of out improved defensive front and our QB play.

31-30 ISU. Texas scores as time expires, but the placekicker clangs the extra point off the upright and we all laugh and celebrate this strange twist of good luck.

That actually happened to Texas in their 2015 loss at home to Cal. Texas had just scored a TD very late in the 4th qtr to pull w/in 1 point, but they missed the PAT.

I don't get the low scores for us. I don't think we score less than 20 all year. Our offense has struggled with drops and has still put up 40 in all three games.

Expecting Texas to come out on fire and absolutely own the first half.

Expecting/'More Really Hoping', our staff will make me a believer with a 2nd half comeback.

No idea on this game. I could see it going anywhere from a Texas easy win to an ISU easy win. Just don't understand Texas or what they are going to do.
