Hope you have a monthly service plan with a good company as I bet most places are going to be hard to get same day service this weekend. Those plans are worth every penny to me when something like that happens and there is extreme hot or cold that usually generates a lot of service calls. Few years ago I was out of state for a funeral and my wife was home with a 1 month old newborn and calls me first thing in the morning that she hears the fan kick on but no cold air is coming out of the vents and it was going to be an upper 90's degree day that day. Called our HVAC company and they had it fixed before 11am that same morning since we get priority service with the maintenance plan and even better it was free of charge since it was something that was covered under our plan. The tech told my wife they were at least 48 hours out for non-service plan customers that day with as many calls as they were getting at the time.
And luckily where I am we got some good rains this week before the heat settles in.
Actually we do and I agree it is great. They will be out this afternoon at 2. I'm not sure what is going on. About 3 weeks ago our power went out on our street, and that same day the capacitor was shot on our unit. I called and they came out within a couple hours to fix (didn't even charge me). Today, nothing was going so I unplugged and plugged it back in at the furnace and it kicked back on. I'm worried I have some other electrical issue causing the problems now.
Good thing my briskets go on 7 tonight. Otherwise I could just keep the smoker lid open at 7 am and let the sun/heat cook them without even firing up the smoker.
It's Iowa. It's the middle of July. Mix yourself a nice tall Gin and Tonic, and relax. Six months from now you will be dreaming of this sort of warmth.
