I'm not. He wasn't here in Spring. And it appears that the position right now is up for grabs, he really isn't third he is tied with two others.

I would be surprised that a guy with 4 years of SEC experience at receiver was in sole possession of the 3rd string spot to two guys that have yet to see a minute of college football. BUT I didn't read the "or" and missed that it was a tie. You're the 5th person to reply the same thing, no reason to beat a dead horse.

I just hope the second string OL can get a lot of reps this year. Need to keep this train rolling, and hope the OL does not regress after losing four seniors next year.

You still have to earn a spot and when you haven't actually had team practices and shown you have learned the offense yet you aren't going to be gifted the spot. That isn't how Campbell works.
Plus, I don't know if you noticed but there are ors listed by each person at that spot.

Eisworth at Star is the most surprising. I guess that means White has come on at safety? I get confused where all of those guys play. I thought Lewis was the Star last season, and did a pretty good job. Am I off on that?

I'm guessing everyone stays in their spot in the 3-3-5 but if we ever play 4-2-5 with the star as the nickel/safety it moves Eisworth closer to the line of scrimmage where he can get downhill like he does when he's the rover/Aztec safety in the 3-3-5. Probably better at slot coverage Lewis or White too.

To add to this, I'm wondering if we'll see more four down linemen against Iowa, KSU or Texas. I don't think so, but it's always an option.

To your second point, this was discussed last season before the Iowa game. I'm pretty sure we switched it up play to play, but there was more 3 down lineman than people expected. I remember bringing Harvey up to the line late in the snap count. Seemed to give Iowa/Stanley issues. I would expect more of the same, especially with a converted DE in McDonald. harvey was a savvy player, so I'm a little concerned with throwing a raw, inexperienced RS freshman into the mix. But obviously this staff knows what they're doing.

I don't think 4 down linemen vs a power run team like Iowa is all that it is cracked up to be. Our 3-3 defense lets a lot of guys run to the football better than a 4 man front would allow. It's not like days of the old triple option where every gap needs to be accounted for.

I was at the game last year in Iowa City, and I don't remember Iowa doing much at all on the ground, so the 3 man front worked fairly well. It struggled against KSU and TX though.

Let's just do two tightend sets. Having a couple more 6'7" beefy guys out there can't be a bad thing, right.

If the TE, HB position has developed to the staffs liking, you may see three in at one time. That will put one WR out there all alone with man coverage. Good match up, take a shot with a fade or skinny post. They put someone over top, then we run it down their throats.

I would like to see Jalen Martin earn some snaps and take advantage of it. He seemed to show promise as a freshman, but we haven't seen much of him since.

Isaiah Lee is a big piece this year in my opinion. If he can spell Lima for good spurts and we don't see much drop off in the middle of the line...
