Besides d line there's not much depth. And Levi is too small to be a big 12 linebacker.

I don't see much for reliable depth at linebacker. We don't have 1 guy who has played at a high level in a d1 game. The guys we have returning anchored a very poor (to put it nicely) LB core last season.

And from the link, man do some of those incoming freshman have good size already for their respective positions (except Coleman, seems he might be a project just purely based on size for DT unless they are playing him elsewhere). And those heights and weights don't match their rivals/247 profiles so they didn't just copy them from there.
Leath is also about 25 pounds heavier than his recruiting profiles said....not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Yeah wasn't Coleman listed at 270#'s by one of the sites? Nerness is already bigger than 1/2 of our returning DE's and so are the Freshman running backs. McMillen is 20#'s heavier than previously listed.
It will be interesting to watch the competition at guard between Oni and Taiese. Oni has a fair amount of experience and has looked pretty good when healthy. Hopefully Taiese can start grasping the system and provide some real depth.

I believe Northrup has been listed at 191#'s since the day he arrived. Seems strange. He hasn't gained or lost a pound.

That's no lie. Maybe size was more important to the coaches in this class than we thought. Jucos- jones, leath, and philbert all have great size and especially the freshman. Butler and Johnson both are already big WRs. Coney and Thomas are big enough to fight for real carries. But Meeker at 303?And Good-Jones at 270. I'm actually pretty impressed
Yes, there's never been any 218 pound linebackers who were good players in the Big 12.....oh wait....there's been lots of them.
As for Levi, I don't know exactly how good he will be but if he is lacking it won't be because he's weighing in at around 220...it will be a talent issue. That said, you underestimate Levi Peters at your own peril...some guys aren't awesome on paper but have football instincts. He's one of those guys.

He's really focused on his conditioning. I dont think he'll lose his ability to run through guys, but may gain a bit of pull away speed and quicker first step.
And he looked good in the spring game. He looked like the physical back many of you have been asking for. I don't think he will be a primary back but I can see him having a role.

That is not true. Numbers do not equal depth. We have one position group with 0 proven returning players - LB. I would say the same for DT as well.
Yeah, very glad to see someone overtake Knott/Mills at WLB and especially Seely at MLB. We need significant improvement at both those positions; hopefully the new guys who took the #1 spots are a major upgrade.

I'd love to see Seth spend the year redshirting. Use the opportunity to live in the weight room for 12 months and come in next fall at 260. Guy could be a great player for us!
