You could tell this was his first time in a "big" game. I didn't see anything wrong with his emotion, but it was clear he was carried away in the environment. Kind of a "just happy to be here" look on his face.
He literally barked at KG when he stepped on the end line in front of the Iowa bench and turned it over that one time. Like, for 10 seconds straight. Carried away or lost in the moment is definitely how I would describe it. Not going to lie, some of that stuff actually made it more fun to see those looks wiped off their faces at the end of the game. :p

I will take Hassle Hassel every day of the week and twice on Sunday for the hawk counter point vs Ross. The noises Hassel makes are like fingernails in a chalkboard though. Don probably spent a lifetime sending Chris outside the house for that crap.

You’re listening to a KXNO show and don’t even know it. Podcasts are going to be ruined soon enough. Just wait until your podcast app implements the YouTube ad set up. No more just 15 seconding through the ads.

This x1000. Hassel totally trolls ISU fans... and so many of you fall hook, line, and sinker for it. Relax. Quit being so serious.

Someone earlier in the thread said that Hassel needs to grow up and be a "grown a** man".... why? That would be SO boring... I'd never watch.

I don't fall for it I just don't think he's funny. In my opinion he tries to hard to be funny.

I take everything Hassel says with a “grain of salt.” He really likes to troll and tries to get under the skin of Cyclone fans. Further, he thinks he’s a comedian. Overall, I enjoy the act, but can understand how others find him annoying.

The fake orgasm noises are almost enough to make me quit the pod. Just painful ****, Not to mention not something I need my kids hearing as I'm driving.

After rewatching the game I had 3 observations:

1. It was a mistake to double Iowa so much in the first half. They were ready to take advantage of the double teams with skip passes to the corners, where ISU gives up a lot of open 3s.

2. I thought that the Iowa players were creating a lot of space by pushing off with their off arm. It was just a little bump, more like a stiff arm in football.

3. Iowa players were a lot tougher than I thought they would be. Got back on defense and did a great job of taking away Gilbert's drives.

Agreed. I dont mind the trolling at all and you can usually tell when it’s coming.

I just can’t stand the voices and orgasms. Even when he is talking seriously he has to incorporate a lisp or a voice or something every 5 min. Everyone has different sense of humors and I just don’t find it funny at all and now after 2 years CW and Van Winkle have started to tag along and do it too. I feel like I am back at a lunch table in 8th grade. The show does great so I am sure some people laugh at it but it’s nails on chalkboard for me. It was a don’t miss show for me but now it’s an occasional listen.

This wasn't a good episode of it imo. He was super butthurt about last night. I normally find him entertaining, but he was going full hawk with the whining about 'lucky' 3s and the officiating somehow being a negative for them.
Fales on Murph and Andy was infected with Hassel brain on Friday's epsiode. Hassel was just doing a bit on the "lucky" 3s stuff. But Fales actually said he couldn't believe there weren't more ISU fans in the stands with the lack of a sellout. As if the empty arena in IC was a reflection of our fans and not theirs. Talk about mental gymnastics.

I love what CW has built here, but hassel's act is awful. I don't get it. Talk to people who knew Hassel growing up, and he is just an adult version. He truly hates Iowa State and spends copius amounts of energy floating outright hatred, disingenuous flattery of Iowa State, and is basically condescending to anything ISU. His dad is on the act. CW would be better to distance himself, over the long haul. CW's personal brand, in the long haul, will not be helped by this association.
I don't agree with a lot of this. If anything, Hassel has been a huge asset for CW. But I do agree that while Hassel tries to act like he's trolling to get a rise out of ISU fans, he deep down believes what he's saying. He's a classic tavern hok raised by a tavern hok. They have Hayden Fry syndrome. It's a massive superiority complex that is riding the arrogance of Hayden from almost 40 years ago. He truly thinks he's a better person because he's an Iowa fan. It'sthe worst brand of Iowa fan.
