Pa Sandfort was 2-7 from three in 2nd half

View attachment 139642

Notice that Dix, Thelwell both played 20:00 in 2nd half. Pa Sandfort did all but 0:13. Dembele went 3-3 with 4 rebounds in 9:56 of 1st half, so only played 4:22 in 2nd half . . . .??
Dembele isnt good at all. I get playing a guy that’s hot, but there’s also Fran understanding that the half he had was a fluke, and reversion to the mean is likely.

The ISU game was the first time I’ve seen Dembele not completely brick a jump shot.

I won’t listen to that show cause of Hassel. He’s always reminded me of a snotty 4th grader who thinks he’s dope cause he’s a Hawk.

Somehow he has fans here but I don’t get it
Because he's trolling the hyper sensitive Cyclone fans that gets him clicks. He's playing you and the other offended ones like a fiddle

Iowa State fans trying not to get offended when Hassell trolls them.

Do people actually listen to 2 Guys for meaningful ISU commentary? Did the CF podcasts disappear from your feed?
I like the show. I like Hassel. I get annoyed with the personality imbalance. CW will go along with Hassel's Iowa talking points and goes out of his way to compliment Iowa players and coaches. It's mostly because CW isn't really a **** talker and doesn't have the sharp tongue that Hassel has. When it's time for ISU discussion, it's mostly Hassel degrading ISU's fans or its uniforms or whatever. While he does compliment ISU when it's deserved, we don't have a guy on the podcast to fire back at Hassel. He essentially bullies CW and Van Winks, and all CW can do is say "you're such a ****" instead of coming back at him. Hassel can't make his own dinner, and all we hear is Hassel talk **** about Blum not shoveling snow.

It seems like many here have trouble identifying that Hassel is trolling at times but also is an arrogant douche about ISU. That was/is his most defining feature as a broadcaster in Iowa.

I like the normal Two Guys shows a lot, but this is the main reason the greatest single episode was when Blum filled in for CW. Brent is quick witted enough and is always well enough prepared to go toe-to-toe with anyone. It was a match made in heaven. Seemed like Hassel enjoyed it, too.

Lotta people in this forum don’t remember to “follow the money.”

Once they do the world will start making a little more sense. Maybe.
Lol who knew we had a couple Gordon Gekkos in here.

It's not that serious. It's an entertainment product with two friends and professional broadcasters who like to have fun with the audience. It's not some grand conspiracy to inflame the audience, so they can sell advertising.

That’s….the whole point we’re trying to make. We’re not the ones in this thread you need to convince.

And yes, it’s still a product. Engagement matters in their business model.

Before the game he'd made four threes all year. He of course then comes off the bench and goes 3/3 against ISU.

I also think it’s hilarious when people say “Iowa went cold from 3” like the defensive intensity didn’t have anything to do with their missing 3s in the 2nd half.
Iowa was gassed. Exhausted from actually playing defense instead of taking half the game off. Can't make shots with dead legs.

ISU won this game by conditioning and quality depth, esp at guard. ISU had 57 minutes out of Heise and CuJo Iowa had 4 minutes out of Pryce Sandfart, closest thing they have to a guard off the bench apparently.

Looking at the statline... My gods, what is this game like if Dembele doesn't stumble out of men's room to hit 3-3 on three pointers in 14 minutes? Is it just a crushing blowout from the 10 minute mark of the 1st half?

Not offended because I know what he's doing.

Just tired of it. It is old schtick. It has run its course.
Great thing about podcasts is if you don’t like it you don’t have to listen. Seems like there’s a lot here that just want a cyclone circle-jerk with no ribbing or Iowa talk. Plenty of amazing CF pods for that

Anytime I am listening, CW and Van Winkle miss so many opportunities to either fire back at him or shut him up completely and don’t say anything. Maybe they are too nice or just don’t have that in them.

I agree, I like good back and forth. Have a friend who is a hawk fan and we have good discussions. I listened to a couple of them but hassel’s stuff just seemed bad to me so I stopped listening after a couple. The JoBo one was the same way. They were so off topic and bouncing around I didn’t find it interesting. Most interesting was how JoBo could find new was to use the f bomb.

I don't listen to any podcasts to be honest.

If you are telling me I HAVE to like him because if I don't, or if I criticize him for his worn out schtick, then I am a thin-skinned Cyclone.

No, I am not. I just don't care for his routine.
