Post Covid Vacation

Disney sometime in 2021. We had everything paid for a booked for April this year. Then COVID struck. I think we have until late Sept to use our Disney passes and we have until 2022 to use the airline tickets. Trying for April 2021 feels like a stretch, so hoping for fall 2021 and a relatively "normal" Disney experience for my daughter.

My wife and I planned a 5 day trip to New York City for Memorial day earlier this year, but that didn't happen. We were lucky to cancel everything on the trip that we pre-paid for (hotels and certain other activities). Somethings, like train tickets, we got a voucher to use again; which reminds me, I need to call Amtrak to see if they will extend the date on our vouchers.

One benefit was on our Broadway tickets. We purchased tickets to two shows. Since all shows got canceled, we not only got a full refund on our tickets (fees and all), but we got an additionally 20% on top of that!

So saying all this, we will probably try and go to New York city again.

I went to Cancun and Punta Cana this summer. Crazy good deals to be had and we had a blast both times.

We usually rent a place on Isla Mujeres for a week every winter. Thank god we went in January this year.

It's almost funny to look back at the timeline. We had a trip planned to Switzerland/Czech Republic for August and I remember stressing in April on whether we should cancel it.

We were supposed to go to NY on March 13th. When did the crap officially hit the fan? March 12/13. Have a wedding in April in Phoenix. So not sure when a day off comes after this Covid crap.

1/2 my social media timeline is people traveling right now... (I'm almost 30 as are most of my "internet friends")

Mrs cyfan and I just want to take our little kiddo to the pool often and go to the downtown farmers market without wearing a stupid mask

Next "trip" won't be until ISU plays in Vegas. Me and the guys are doing a 3 day, 1 night stay (taking a 1 a.m. flight back to DSM)

We were supposed to be loading the kids up and doing a cruise on Friday. We pushed that back to next Christmas. So for 2021 we're supposed to have a family destination Thanksgiving somewhere in Florida, the Christmas Cruise and a 2022 Spring Break Cruise (also planned Pre-Covid). We're probably going to move the spring break cruise back to 2023.

I went out to the oregon coast a few months before this whole ******** started.

I've kind of been debating just going back there again. Or somewhere else along the west coast. Might make it a road trip this time though. I have a lot of unused lease miles thanks to covid.

went to St. Lucia over Thanksgiving and it was AWESOME!!! So great that we booked another trip to Antigua. A couple days ago we got an email for a new Sandals resort in Curacao, that looks to be the best (probably will hit that for our 15 year anniversary).

As soon as some folks in my circle are vaccinated I'll be visiting them in various places.
Do you know how long it is recommended to wait post-vaccination before visiting elderly? I'm assuming it's not the next day (or week) and should still be done cautiously for awhile...

Curacao is fantastic, unfortunately getting there isn't the easiest. We were there on a cruise.

We went to South Carolina this summer - it was great and had no issues whatsoever other than hurricane Isaias, which was actually not as bad as the derecho.
