I'm talking about conference standings and the Iowa game has nothing to do with conference standings. Next year 5 of those 9 conference games will be played at home.Counterpoint: we play 5 home/5 away P5 games every year against the same 10 teams.

If we can win TCU, then win the bowl game, that's an 8 win season. Not what I had hoped, but nothing to sneeze at either. The floor has been raised where we're disappointed with a 7-5 season. I'm only 30, but I can still remember when we were ecstatic to be 6-6/7-5 and bowl eligible.

ISU football used to suck…. it doesn’t anymore…. that’s a fact…. and we should all appreciate that.
But that doesn’t mean this season isn’t very disappointing….. it definitely is. Having basically everyone back from a Fiesta Bowl championship, starting the season ranked 7th, and everyone on here arguing about if we would 10 or 11 games this year……. and instead we might win 6 or 7 games, finish the season not ranked, and likely go to a crap bowl…. that is disappointing folks.
I don’t care if our guys were the best versions of themselves, this season was disappointing.
There’s a big difference between sucking and being disappointing.
Then clonedude was in heaven. I think he was hating life last season. Some people are just happy when they are PO’d.so, the season was disappointing?
Yeah, plus one possession losses and inopportune turnovers, that's football but those things can also easily happen on the plus side of the ledger.I don't know about next years schedule but this season two of our losses were the second game of back to back road games.
And with Iowa, we tried a rushed FG to try to get it to one possession to leave time on the clock. Was closer than that.Margins on the losses this year:
Iowa - 10
Baylor - 2
WVU - 7
Tech - 3
OU - 7
Other than Iowa, the losses have been a TD or less. Last year we won a lot of those close games. This year luck went the other way. Frustrating as hell, but it is what it is. Under Campbell we have had way more blow out wins than blow out losses.
