Pollard appreciation thread

I hope everyone understands to keep this level of program going forward is going to take more money. JP understands this and his biggest challenge is helping all of us understand that ticket prices and donations have to go up to keep this going.

Hence why he sent out this “TED talk” type video last year before the Iowa game talking about the need to rebalance the donation structure. I think it was supposed to go in effect for 2021 but I believe they pushed it back due to the pandemic. They absolutely need to push it through to be able to retain Campbell and his staff.

I still remember when he was brought on and the mounting criticism he’d been weathering for years. He had a grand vision in 2005-06 and has been able to build this fan base up more than any individual coach has been able to (with the exception of Fennelly)

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but my only criticism I have of him is for chasing Wayne Morgan off too soon, but I’m pretty sure he was feeling pressure from the fan base as well. This decision looks even worse given how much patience has been granted to Steve Prohm, but maybe he’s learned a little since the days of Wayne Morgan and Dan McCarney.

But credit is due where it needs to be. He’s been able to make some absolutely great hires since then and the facilities are better than they have ever been.

Only a Hawkster would use "hate".... Pollard has delivered us an incredible sports foundation..now it is up to us to keep it that way. "Pay the Man" ..both Pollard and Coach Campbell

Pollard has always been the man.

Some on here think people "hate" him because they disagree with one statement or one action. The only people who really "hate" what Pollard has done at ISU are probably secretly Hawkeye or Nebraska fans.

My wife reminded me that we need to increase our donation and buy two more season tickets for next year, since we deferred. I look forward to the day when the only hok fans are the ones in the visitors sections or the ones who are crying out in the parking lots. It's not too early to remind everyone that if you can't go to a game give or sell the tickets to Cyclone fans only, no greasy hoks.

I want hok fans to hate him. Just confirms that everything he is doing is right.

Think I've said this in the past, but I sent him an email (after getting home from closing the bars on Welch) when I was a student because I was sick of hanging onto CPR and extremely drunk. I couldn't have been more wrong, it's easy to make a case that he's the best AD in the country. Sorry for that 30ish word email that took me an hour to make coherent JP, you da real MVP.
